I ordered a barebones system and got it yesterday, and much to my suprise it wasn't the processor I ordered. I had ordered an AMD 1600+ and they told me it was backordered and they were expecting a shipment in the next few days.Guess it never showed up, they sent me an AMD 1700+ to make up for the extra time it took to get it to me.

I'm guessing there are a few good people left in the world! Hurray for me!

Lucky bastard!!! Why has that never happened to me all the times I ordered something that the shops then didn't have (but were supposed to have in stock)?

I've had that happen before, but with CD-ROM's. Also one company I ordered a Duron 800MHz from sent me a 950MHz on accident.

Beat this. I bought a 39.99 pentium II mobo during the summer for a friend. A box shows up, in it is a DVD for a IBM Thinkpad, retail 279.99. Anyone top that?

Maybe. A couple years back my father in law won a $5,000 shopping spree from NEC through Excite. So he got a desktop and a laptop. When he got the laptop the spot where you swap the cdrom and floppy was broken so he called NEC, they said they would send him out another laptop. So he got that one and was actually better than the first one but they never said how to send the other back. He called and left 5 messages. No response. So I was able to fix the broken drive and got a free laptop out of it. Not bad.
