at least as far as I know... all four of my grandparents came to the US / Canada from their respective countries in the 1930's and 40's. my dad's parents came from France and moved to Montreal. my mom's dad was from germany and her mom was russian.

I've never bothered to trace the geneology on my mom's side further than my grandparents, but my great uncle on my dad's side (my grandmother's brother) has a pretty detailed chart going back to the 1600's in southern france.

Anyway, I don't want to piss on anyones parade, but if someone is from Germany, Italy, Spain, or any other European country, chances are they are not 100% of that country. i.e. it is very likely that in the thousands of years it took to settle america, you likely have some blood of another nation and are not just split into 3-4 countries. You probably have bits from 20-50 countries of various percentages.

i.e.
if someone is

25% polish
50% italian
25% german

they are probably

5% x
10% y
5% c
10% m
etc, etc, etc

I'd say...
74% Dominican
25% Chinese
1% French and Unknown, probably european mix.

Reason for the unknown is that we don't know our exact origins, but we suspect that some of my ancestors moved to the Dominican Republic from european countires and changed their names.

Thousands of years to settle america? Europeans weren't coming here in any numbers until the 1500s, and I imagine a lot of people can trace their families back to the boats they came off of.

chances are, you too have european blood in you, whch would make you not 100% to which you are claiming. There are few 100% americans except for a few native americans.
