What's a good place to get asian beef jerky in bulk (I think 10 lbs qualifies as bulk when we're talking about jerky)? I used to buy from Fortune Jerky, but they seem to have closed up shop.

Trust me, more than just the package changed. The meat is totally different. I double checked to make sure. If they think the tender cuts is thinner, I must be smoking some bad shite??!!?? I guess I'll have to try some Oberto. They do have the thin dried stuff right?

I sent an email to the company lastnight asking them about why they dropped the thin type of jerky and just got a reply from Jack Link's this morning.......

Thanks for your email. We haven't changed anything in the processing of our jerky but we did change our packaging a few years back. Our packaging used to be color-coded by flavor and did not include "Premium Cuts" on the label as does our current packaging. Also, we make a Tenderstrips product which is chopped and formed and is thinner than our whole-muscle jerky.
All of our products are available in convenience stores across the country, mass-merchandise stores, and many drug, sporting good, home improvement, and grocery stores nationwide. Plus, our products are also available online at www.jacklinksjerky.com or by calling 715-466-6654.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Since they changed, I stopped buying jerky. I'm not 100% sure they dropped the thin stuff but hell if I can find it anywhere

edit-- Meant sweet and hot, not sweet and sour

you can find both here in az. i like the squishy stuff better tho, so ill get that in teriyaki flavor. ive tried a ton of road side jerky stands, usually are pretty good. theres a good place in quartzsite that my fam stops at every trip thru there too, damned if i can remember the name right now tho.

Are you sure? I just checked their website and it lists nothing but Premium Cuts.
As for Quartzite,AZ ......... Used to do a lot of metal detectecting there. Small town but very busy with all the flea markets, rock shops, rv parks and tourists.

mebbe the QT stations i go to just have old stock if the site say they dont make it anymore, but i know my kids get those instead of the premium that i get. ill look again tonite, we usually stop for a snack on fridays on the way home.

There was a jerky company I used to order from that got sued because a (large) dairy said they stole their name. Argh!

Oh yeah! Tillamook! Good stuff.

My favorite beef jerky is my Dad's homemade kind. He uses London Broil and some kind of "secret" marinade. It is awesome. I have tried for many years to get him to sale it, but he wont.

I am into the Jack Links nuggets as of late. Peppered or teriyaki.

Dublin General Store

Fairly well known in Michigan. The jerky is much thicker and softer than that stuff you normally find in grocery stores.

The Hell Fires will take the paint off a car.

I like Jack's links. Ever since they switched to the smaller bags though, it tastes different (i.e., not as good).
