We were also purple and gold. The problem was that it was never really "gold" it was a pretty blatant yellow (helmets, pants, etc) and didn't look too good. Don't get me wrong, the University of Washington's purple and gold looks great.

We were the Spartans. Had a nice big stylized painting of a soldier with the helmet, shield, sword, sandals and skirt, but thankfully no one actually had to dress up as one.
