I feel they are pain in the ass and dont want to even try. I know myself that I rather slip on the glasses forget about it, but yesterday I went for my every 6 month cornea surgeon follow up. He was insisting on contact lens on my right eye that would make me see 20/20 on right eye but I will still wear glasses for protection, I refused his offer and asked for new prescription for glasses. I need to wear glasses because I had trauma on my right eye and had cornea transplant when I was little. If cells in my right eye die, I will need new cornea transplant but hopefully that will never happen. He scheduled me for photography test that will count living cells in my right eye

My view on contact lenses was that they helped me view stuff.

I had them for about 10 years before I got tired of them and switched back to glasses....

i wear them almost everyday, i live in FL, so glasses are a PITA, always slipping, plus i wear sunglasses, and i hate to worry about my glasses...

i use acuvue 2's, cant tell they are there, only time they suck are at night when they start drying out, otherwise it takes about 1 min to put them in, even less taking them out.

Sounds like you are being overtly cautious, but I would too if I already had a cornea transplant. Good luck with that, and your post was actually coherent.

I wear mine from when I wake up til when I go to bed.. without them I can't see squat... I recommend them.. (disposables)

I have no problem with them at all... my 1 month contacts I make last 3 or 4 no problem.. they are not expensive.

my view is that i have perfect vision,
and you should run with sharp sticks while wearing no eye protection.

I hate 1 month contacts, I lose them too easily. The one I can throw away after going out are perfect

20/15 in both eyes. I'm happy with that!

I wear glasses to work (no one here I care to impress with my rugged good looks...), and contacts in social settings. Plus, at the office, I'm in front of a computer 8 hrs. a day, so I prefer my glasses.

I've tried them, but I don't care for them. I have very dry eyes by nature and the contacts just enhance that problem. After about 4 hours of use, even with the drops, my eyes are bloodshot to hell and very irritated. I also have troubles with reading stuff about 4 feet from my body. I just can't focus well on it completely killing my ability to read a computer. Eye doc pretty much said that was the way it was and that it can't be fixed.

Bleh. I just went ahead and got myself some uberlight frames & lenses in a new set of glasses and made sure they fit well. That took care of the "slipping" problem.

have had contacts for 8 years now. I hate wearing glasses all day.

I use the 1 month lenses and even though I sit in front of a computer for 5-6 hours/day at work, a couple rewetting drops every couple hours works wonders.

Contacts are awesome! I switched to contacts about 3 years ago and I'll never go back to glasses (I use Focus Dailies, in case anyone wants to know). I'm fortunate tho that my eyes don't get dry and irritated unless I've been wearing contacts for about 12+ hours.

My next trip to the eye doctor, i wanna get a new prescription and switch to those new ones you can wear for a month straight. I think they're called Focus Night & Day.

I would rather have glasses, I don't like putting stuff in my eyes, and the glasses make me look more sophisticated anyways .

Been wearing contacts for 5 years now. They're a PITA sometimes, but I still like them better than glasses.

- Glasses are less of a pain in the ass in the morning, and I can't wait to take my contacts off at the end of the day so my eyes will feel better.
- Don't have to worry about falling asleep with glasses on.
- Have to take contacts out before I hop in the pool.
- Contacts give me dry eyes late in the day.
- Contacts give me dry eyes if the A/C in the car is blowing in my face.
- With glasses I don't have to bother refilling a prescription.
- Glasses offer me eye protection.
- In the long run glasses are much cheaper than contacts.
- I don't give a fvck if people think I look better with contacts.

I thought they were a pain in the ass too, but with some encouragement I started wearing them about 3 weeks ago. My biggest problem is dryness (hereditary) and finding a brand that works. None of the Acuvue's worked for me. I can wear Focus dailies without any trouble. I'm trying to wear the Focus day/night so I can leave them in for a long time, but my vision isn't quite as clear as it could be with them.

I prefer them over glasses. I have a wider range of vision than I do with glasses. I have better vision, because my contacts don't slip down my nose. I don't have to worry about cleaning my contacts during the day if they get dirty. I don't have to go see my eye doc to get my glasses adjusted when they aren't working right.

But to each their own.

Contacts are awesome in terms of being clearer than glasses. Sure, they require a time investment, but they make you look better too. The only problem I have with contacts is that when I wear them while looking at the computer, my eyes get red and dry. I try to wear glasses when I know I'll be at a computer for a long time.
