I got home today to find a brown box at my door. Inside the brown box was a little brown box.

I opened the little brown box, and not much to my suprise, I found an X800GTO²!

Not a bad bundle. Nothing I won't use.
Here is a closeup.

Here is a look under the metal cover.

Back of the card, with the heatspreader off.

Ohh teh noes! Bad contact.

Looks to be the same deal with the front of the card. So, before even putting it in my pc, I wen't ahead and applied MX-1 onto the ram and core. Load temps were about 50c with 12 pipes, but I didn't keep the card at 12 for very long.

The flash was easy enough, I didn't have a floppy drive so I made a bootable cd. Worked great. Set the card to boot at XT clocks (520/1120), works great. I'll test higher in later posts. Load temps are up about 4c, but I am quite impressed with the stock cooler. The fan has no whine at all, just a "whoosh". Anywho I'll do some benches likely tomorrow, but for now, I'm going to go enjoy this card.
*comes back 10 minutes later*
Generals Zero Hour: 2048x1536 4x AA 16x AF: ~90-110fps
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory: 1600x1200 4x AA 16x AF: game is locked at 45fps, seen it drop to 40
Halo: 2048x1536 4x AA 16x AF: ~100-160fps, depending on the map
UT2004: 1600x1200 6x AA 16x AF: ~45fps looking down from the top of a tower in face 3, with 32 bots, ~60fps in a smaller, inside map without bots, ~70fps without bots
F.E.A.R. Demo: 1280x960 2x AA 16x AF, maxed except for softshadows: ~40-65fps
Very happy. Back to games.
