z77 RAM compatible with z87?

RAM I'm looking at: Geil EVO 1600 CL9 2x4GB, but advertised as "latest including z77."

I have Asus z87 Plus. updated QVL has Geils of different models tho under the 1600mHz.

You think I can go for it? Or too risky?

As long as it's not 1.65v it should be fine.

1.5 is okay, 1.35 is better.

Just go to the RAM manufacturer's web-site. they should have a "configurator" tab under support. Match the RAM you have or want with your motherboard and chipset. DDR3 . . . is DDR3 .. .
