well, dont matter X99 platform was launched at last Friday
I believe there still has someone try to work on the G3258 overclocking

as we know, there already have some leak bios, which allow b85/h81 to overclocking with G3258(with h97 also), but for those of you try to do the true-overclocking, I will suggest to use z97 motherboard with it.

and this image I found, will show you the motherboard spec from 4 leading brands. and those motherboard will at $110-120 price range. I think this will not the suggestion only for the g3258, but also good for other K series CPU use.

I'm sorry this is worthless misinformation, that is also factually incorrect and self contradicting. For instance the Asus board has 2 chassis fan headers and dual VGA support, not that it would make sense to run Xfire or SLI off an OC'ed Pentium in the first place.
Also the power phase thing... this picture shows 7, another 8+1, the blog says 6, which one is it? More VR also likely means higher power consumption, though it may be better for stable overclocks at least for more power hungry 4 cores, certainly not for a dual core Pentium, that should require half the power of an i5.

That said picking a motherboard has become somewhat difficult, and there are very few reviews out there compared to the number of SKUs. I'm thinking a smaller mini-ITX board for the Pentium, maybe that ASrock model that AT tested.

I like Asrocks PWM heatsinks, whatever the fook a PWM heatsink is... they get a large half eaten cone and Gigabyte only get a small half eaten cone. Cones are better than ice lollys.
