Zalman 7000B-AlCu

How quiet is the Zalman 7000B-AlCu (the 92mm fan model) compared with the stock Intel heatsink and fan that come with Prescott or Northwood?
How is the Zalman compared with the stock for cooling?

at the low speed it's very quiet, it cools better. well I don't think ANYTHING can cool a Prescott well

if the stock prescott coolers are already good, then this one is better..... and is way much quite than stock intel's...

I can't hear it over my case fans so I would say fairly quiet. I can't hear my Zalman VF700 either over case fans. Zalman hsf's are good and quiet and do a great job cooling.

It's very quiet at min speed, about 1300 RPM, at full 12v it's pretty loud for my tastes.

Actually, I'm sure a triple or more cascaded phase change system could cool a Prescott well.

it is the quietest hsf i have come across, besides my panaflo on top xp-90c, but hey it does the job right.

it seems to cool off mine better under load, and it is totally silent in the case. with max rpms, it is barely audible over the stock 6800 cooler.

The XP-120 I had did the job fine, had a Deleron 320 running at 3.6GHz. Put the motherboard in a new case and it would fit, and a smaller HSF didn't cool enough to keep running at 3.6GHz.
