Zalman fan install

I have the Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D motherboard, which came with a yellow brace / contraption to fit around the CPU (Aphlon 64 Socket 939 Winchester 3500). I'm about to install the Zalman 7000alcu CPU fan, but I'm unsure whether or not I should attach it to the yellow contraption, or if I should follow the Zalman instructions from the site, putting their brace behind the motherboard and everything (which would require getting rid of the yellow contraption / brace). Any advice as to which path I should tread?

I have tried installing directly onto the yellow platform (the easiest installation method - nothing permanent, no grease yet), but the cooler seems a little loose.

Use the Zalman back plate and nipples if the back plate does not interfere with any surface mount devices on the back of the motherboard. Position the Zalman cooler on top of the CPU and ALTERNATELY tighten BOTH screws (1/2 turn each side) until they are snug against the brass nipples.

Yeah, nice pics . You know what? That's a really good idea what redsoxer did. He didn't have a removable mobo tray, but he mounted the heatsink on the mobo and THEN screwed the mobo on there. I never really thought of that
