So installing the cooler was easy, but now I have no idea where to get power for this thing (the cooler)??
Anyone know where the prongs are for the power?

It's a Sapphire x1900xt, if that is needed.

Thanks in advance

doesn't it come with a 3 pin connector and a zalman fanmate 2? you connect the power from the fan to the zalman fanmate, then connect the other end of the fanmate to the 3 pin connector that should be on the card somewhere...
didn't you see when u removed the stock cooler?
(i'm not 100%, i dont own a vf900)

I did a mod to run it from the card so you can control fan speed. Take the pins out of the head on the VF900 fan bu pushing on the little metal tabs with a pen and sliding the wires out. Then use the red and black wires, and in the same order they were on the stock fan, use some electric tape to stick the black wire to its pin and the red wire to its. You can have total control in CCC.

Its also possible to connect the fan directly the cards fan header to get dynamic control and a cleaner install. It dose require a slight modification to either the card or VF-900 however.

If you?re interested I can provide details.

I would be interested in doing this mod. I would prefer modding the Zlaman instead of the card.

Method 1 (involves a soldering iron), modifying the VF-700/900 basically involves swapping the fan header on the Zalman with the fan header from the stock HS/F so you can directly connect it to the graphics card. Step one involves cutting the fan headers off both cards, you can make the cut anywhere you want but you'll want to leave enough room to easily work and possible mistakes.

Once you remove both headers you'll want to strip the wires on both ends you want to connect. Next you want to solder the connectors together making sure you get the wires correct - or ground to - and + to + (ground is almost always black). Lastly you'll want to use electrical tape to isolate the solder points. Alternately you can use heat shrink tubing (recommended) just remember that it has to go on the wire before you do the soldering since it most likely won't fit over the fan header.

Method 2 modifying the card is much simpler. All you have to do is essentially remove the plastic housing on the GPU fan header to expose the bare pins that connect to the fan. Once you have the plastic housing removed you should be able to simply slide the Zalman?s 3 pin over the expose pins. Although this method is much easier I?m not sure how widely compatible it is, but many have successfully done it.

Alternatvely, you can just run the 3-pin wire from the Zalman to a motherboard fan header and control it with Speedfan from inside Windows. Fan speed control doesn't really matter with these coolers; they're quiet even at maximum speed.

Maybe compared to the stock HS/F but the VF-700/900 at full speed don't pass for quiet in my book.
