Louisssss,

I'm interested in placing this cooler on an ATI x1900xtx card as well. Please send us an update as to your case temps and gpu temps at stock vs with this cooler. I realize this cooler and just about all other aftermarket x1900xtx coolers send hot air in the case.

I'm thinking it shouldn't increase case temps by too much, but am interested in real numbers.

Thanks

Finally, a review with numbers we can understand. Better than the Fukal1ty version of the VF700? Awesome.

Dave Sz said it. However much it has a heatpipe and is copper, I would still hesitate from buying it due to price. A 66% price increase isn't worth the few minor degrees that I lose from the VF700-Cu unless the VF700 isn't capable of handling it.

According to the article, the VF900 10.8% greater in performance over the VF700, but a 66% price hike hike over the VF700. Somehow, people are justifying the cost.

it costs as much and even more than top of the line CPU coolers. I'd rather get a xp90 for $30 and mod it to fit the card rather than the vf900. It would most likely cool a lot better as well.

You do that, and I would like to see it!

Is the VF900 Cu better than the VF700? Yes. Is it worth nearly twice the price? Probably not. Then again, give it a few weeks and it may come down in price.

I doubt it will come down in price any time soon (months will have to pass)
Besides, Zalman will make a lot of Radeon X1900's owners very happy. After all, the VF700 dows not support the X1900 series.

Well the VF700's fit and work fine on the 1900 series- but some peeps say temps aren't much better or even a little worse than the stock HSF. Others say they are working great for them. I'm waiting for the VF900 for the better cooling. I hope the price drops relatively quick...

The main thing is that this is one of the few aftermarket cooler that you can (at least looks like) run in SLI.

I'd like to see a site review that setup.

If the price reduction is any reflection of the Zalman 9500 HSF price reduction, then it will be some (4) months before the price has seen 20-25% decrease.

It just doesn't make sense to -me-, why anyone would wait 1,2, or 3 months for a 10% or more price reduction on GPU cooler to perform the same job an Arctic Cooler Accelero X2/X1 will do @ $29 currently.

I bet the price will drop soon.

I was waiting for a Zalman answer to the NVSilencer Rev3. I wish they included the Rev3 in the roundup too. Otherwise it looks nice. And look, they included ramsinks this time!
