It's Hynix.

My memory is also Hynix. Not sure what flavor of Hynix.

LOL I meant Hynix the entire time. The UEFI reports Hynix and I have read online it's Hynix, but not sure what die. Man, what a morning.

Zen4 multicore beast lol

Took the 7950x out for a spin in the different 3dmarks
Pretty sure its the 3090 that's holding me back at this point lol..

I think these are good cpu scores atleast (?)

You are no.12!

Is this good enough or do you want to rank even higher?
Pretty sure the other guys are LN2, i'm happy just to be on the list with "only" custom watercooling
lol nevermind, after closer inspection, the other guys were just running with SMT disabled haha

That's why its only their 16t score that's somewhat decent..
I was running all threads, and it shows when you compared average clockspeeds of the run

*edit*
I can also play that game, now the only one ahead of me is using LN2 @ 6.4ghz
(behind me is also subzero)

CL32 is stable on my Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB at 6000. Prior instability must have been from also lowering tRCD and tRP. Kept both of those at 38 this time.

Trying CL30 now along with some of the tweaked secondary timings Justinus posted. So far it's 1 hour stable in stress tests.
CL30 is not stable. Went back to 32. Put in timings based on Juntinus' screenshots. Lowered several of them from even what he had shown. 8 hours stable MemTest and Prime95 512K+ FFT.

I almost get the idea there's a bit more to EXPO than just some timing profile. Either that or I am just lucky I was able to take the CL30 profile and crank it to 6200 with 2067 FCLK and it worked (20 pass memtest stable).

I need to figure out if I can get it to run 6400 with 2133-2200 FCLK. I haven't had enough time to mess with it yet.

I never mess with RAM because it's time consuming and because I don't know much about its nature. Like a CPU getting overclocked may shorten its useful life by a decade or so (still long enough to not matter for most people). Does pushing RAM over the edge cause permanent damage to it? Suppose if I were to successfully run DDR5-6000 RAM at DDR5-6400, would a day come when suddenly the RAM doesn't work at 6400 or even at 6000 and I have to dial it way back down?

Usually when a RAM module dies it dies. No degradation, just death. It's high voltage that will do it. I haven't seen a module die if it's in it's recommended range.

Anyone tested the usb ports on these mobos? Any weird disconnect issues using Windows 11? (is Windows 11 playing nice with new Amd hardware?)

We are discussing this on a other forum, but i can share here also.

Graphic card performance on the AM5 platform seem to be down compared to AM4, both in games and 3dmark.
So far we are 3 people seeing the same atm..

Its only in pure CPU benchmarks the 7950x is carrying the score.. (same 3090 used for all benches)

Have any of you noticed this ?

FWIW AMD fixed the issue a while ago on Zen 3. You just had to update the bios and chipset drivers.

Note that Windows likes to overwrite installed drivers with it’s own, so if you are still having that issue you should disable driver updates and reinstall the chipset drivers.

I went back to the 0614 latest official release beta BIOS for my X670E Crosshair Extreme since I was seeing clipping of clock speeds with the 0703 unofficial beta BIOS. Clock speeds would not go above 5.5GHz. With 0614 I can now see individual cores boost up to 5.8GHz. Put in all of the settings I used on 0703 and they work just fine in 0614. Stress test stable for 10+ hours so far with the settings.

Decided to settle on -10 all core for Curve Optimizer. Precision Boost is set to Enabled. Memory settings are as reported earlier. Nothing crazy. Pretty mild settings really. They work and are so far stable.

What I don't get is why my CPU Profile 16 thread scores are so much lower compared to others with 7950Xs or even 5950Xs while my max thread score seems spot on.

7950x and MSI Ma Ace, first I got this to boot first time (amazing right!), updated BIOS to latest from 9/27 (worked fine no issues). Even booted into Acronis Recover PE (by accident). So all looked good.

Now everything went wrong.

First I have 2 NVMe drives a 980Pro (1TB) and an XPS (2TB), using slots 2 and 3 nothing worked. Using 1 and 3 only the drive in 1 is found, using 1 and 2 I was able to see both sometimes, but system liked to hang accessing NVMe, or on installing Windows drive would just disappear. So I removed the second drive, also removed the Intel NIC (wanted 3 ethernet ports), and video card. Figured good back to basics and work my way up.

Now it does not even boot I hang on 32 or 33 which is CPU post-memory init started or CP post-memory int - cache initialization.

So do I have a bad CPU, I mean it worked for about an hour, is it bad memory (same thing), or bad MB (never would handle 2 NVMe drives). I can not trouble shoot I have no extra parts to work with. Resetting BIOS has not helped either, tied that a few times already.

After my troubles, I would say memory.

Just a shot in the dark, do you have SAM enabled on both platforms?

I don't know what did it, but my 16T score look good now. There was an update released today for 3DMark and I updated Windows 11 to 22H2.

Huh, ASrock says the sleep issue is an AM5 platform requirement. See thread on reddit here. I suspect they're wrong but...
Can anyone with a non-ASRock board comment if your PC can go to sleep and wake from sleep?

Once I get it setup in my main system with the 6900XT I will be able to take some sample benchmarks to compare against 5950X. AMD vs. Nvidia may behave differently across generations.
