An easier path for you and your money to obtain better CPU performance and far better memory performance is getting a 13900K CPU, Z790 motherboard, and DDR5 7600 memory.
Nonsense, I prefer the to have the platform ready for 7950x3d which will blow all current and future intel gen13 cpus out of the water
Latest news:

AMD Ryzen 7000X3D series reportedly feature 16, 12 and 8-core models, coming January 2023

And in avx-512 apps that some people use, its will annialate a 13900ks even.

Figured out what was causing my instability. Wasn't PBO2, EXPO, or anything literally hardware. Simply just version F8c of the BIOS for my X670E AORUS Master. Rolling back to F8b solved all my issues. Huge shoutout to MrHugelberg over on the TweakTown/GIGABYTE forums for having the same issue and posting about it.

It sems that Gigabyte has botched the AGESA ComboAM5 from 1.0.0.3A to 1.0.0.3D
I had already posted the situation on the X670 Aours elite ax, where it would not even post if EXPO was enabled once the UEFI already had 1.0.0.3D
I will try a Gigabyte B650M DS3H and an Asus B650-A ROG Strix to compare if 1.0.0.3D is botched, if it is only Gigabyte 1.0.0.3D, or if it is only Gigabyte X670 1.0.0.3D

I have not trusted gigabyte for the last 15 years. Rightfully so.

I liked my x570 Aorus Master. It's still plugging along quite well. But I'm skeptical as to why I would pick one of their x670/x670e offerings since none of them seem to have USB4. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but feature-wise the Taichi looks like a better board than anything Gigabyte is currently selling. Only thing that makes me wonder about the Taichi is their decision to use only one power phase for memory when everyone else seems to be using two. They have 24 for the CPU which is complete overkill.

i had gigabyte boards in my last 4 rigs, but their x299 had some issues, frequently rebooting on startup, that i was unable to fix (dropping any overclocks, newer Bios, would happen anyway), so i am going with Asus this time around. Hopefully i wont regret.

Either way, would not go Gigabyte, as they went bonkers with the PCI-E links, releasing crapton of boards but not a single one supporting dual GPU, cause the additional PCI-E are not even 8x, but 4x/3x instead. Meanwhile the links are used for moar m2 storage. Whoever came with this wonderfuĺ idea needs to be fired.

Does Zen 4 have a maximum supported memory frequency for DDR5? Are there memory divider issues that would introduce latency like with previous Ryzen CPU's.

I think it is 5600, 6000 being the sweet spot, and somewhat easily achievable.Beyond that I suspect it goes down hill pretty fast, but that is why they have vcache models incoming.
That's why I asked. I am planning ahead for V-cache Zen 4 CPU's. I guess they are releasing or announcing in January 2023 and released within a few weeks of that. They already have 8000mhz sticks either in the wild or ready for release. I also know that the timings on the 6000mhz sticks will be coming down in the next few years.

I'm starting to consider skipping a pcie5 drive for my build, and just get a pcie4 to save some money and then maybe get a pcie5 drive down the road if it actually makes any difference in games. Also for memory get a 6000 EXPO kit with a good price.

Story I read said PCIe 5 drives are due any time now. Hopefully I can get one b4 Xmas.
I bolded "build" coz I was curious if he will wait for X3D before finalizing his build

By the way, regarding PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives, AMD said November. Now they have to be called liars in December!

Their other lies:

5800X3D is coming! Made us wait almost 6 to 8 months from first reveal and we never got the 5900X3D they showed off.

Zen4 V-cache parts before end of year! We'll see.

Zen 4 memory OC is looking great and clocking very high! Failed to mention they were using Zen 3 as reference.

I must admit that I didn't think the 7950X3D was going to be a thing, or I would have waited.

I think they have surplus 7950X dies so putting some V-cache on them to increase sale/re-sale value. Of course, they will say officially that they listened to their customers. Your customers wanted V-cache parts at Zen 4 launch but I guess their ears weren't available at the time.

Anyone have recent experience with Asrock boards? Decent bios support? General stability?

I'm considering an Asrock B650 Pro RS. Lots of features for the money but I don't mind paying a bit more if Asus or MSI provide better software and/or less bugs.
