The name should be the least of Apple's worries! Since this is a first generation Apple product, you can be certain that it will be buggy for at least the first few firmware releases. If Apple fanboys weren't so obnoxious, I'd almost feel pity for them while they're showing off their shiny new iPhones and having them crash in the middle of their demo

I'd wait for version 2.0, and let someone else be the paid beta tester for this. You can be sure that the next version will be cheaper and have more storage space as well.

Some people don't care to edit every one of their songs manually and apply artwork to each song/album.

The Zune software automagically downloads song/album info and also downloads and applies the artwork.

I think iTunes does the song info but no the album artwork.

Both 30GB. The Zune is thicker than the iPod but not by enough to be an issue.

Overall, I think I'm leaning towards the Zune because I like watching movies on it better and it's more rugged. However I want to hear your opinions. Posts going more into detail than "iPod pwns" are appreciated.

The Zune and iPod's screens have the same resolution. 320x240.

good choice.... my friend has a brown zune and i really like some features of it (i have a gigabeat S 60 gig). Its based on the same interface (which to me is far superior to the ipod ui) but i get to use wmp11 (which the zune software is based off.... ms was very stupid imo for not using wmp11.... it works really really well for me)

the screen is the biggest advantage over my gigabeat (it really does look bigger and brighter). Its accessory market is also much better (but the gigabeat is really bad in the accessory dept). If I was buying today it would be the gigabeat but the only reason i wouldnt get a zune is for the potential a 2nd gen product could bring. Namely a smaller device with a widescreen and more storage (30 gigs really isnt enough for me anymore as I want my whole collection with me at all times if im going to pony up for a hd based player and my mp3's are 29 gigs and i have a ton of recorded tv)
