zyxel dsl router and vnc problems

I'm using a zyxel 645r from work and i'm trying to connect to my efficient speedstream 5200 at home. But neither will connect i opened up the ports on the 645r to forward to the appropriate machine but it still won't connect. I've tried accessing the machine behind the zyxel from home but nothing happens. I can ping the 645r and get a response but cannot vnc to the machine behind it. This machine has no firewall installed. I've also opened up the ports on my speedstream 5200 to accept incoming requests but no go. I also turned off windows firewall on my home machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks alot.

Try making a VNC connection to your pc from anthong location (a friends house). If it works you know where your problem is. If it doesn't, then u'll know that too.

What ports did you open? TCP 5800 & 5900? You'll need 5800 if you're using the java viewer in a brower.
