Its bad enough I have to pay tax but they don't reduce shipping charges on orders with several items. I mean almost 20% shipping charge is ridiculous.
Newegg is usually really good for heavy items, like UPSes, cases, and maybe power supplies. Anything else, like chipset cooling, fans, etc - I usually got to SVC, Bestbyte, or something along those lines. SVC's Priority Mail shipping is really nice, and they have always had a quick shipping time for me, usually postmarked the day of, or the day after, I order.
Newegg's shipping is really weird though. Put together a cart of tiny items - try some cooling paste, a tiny chipset fan, maybe a USB cable, and your shipping will likely cost more than the items. Get the same stuff at SVC, and you'll probably pay a 1-2 pound shipping rate - less than $6. Or heck, Bestbyte - their standard shipping carries a $5 flat rate.
I only ordered from ZZF once, when they had some deal on Thoroughbred-B 2100's. The two-day shipping held true then, but that wasn't during the holidays either.
I'll say though, I don't like when websites don't have realtime (or at least close to it) status updates. But I'd imagine that putting together a system like that takes a decent investment of both time and money.
