As our 2023 retrospective rolls forth, we're going back to the well of popular Certification Watch news roundups. As previously noted in this space, there were almost 50 Certification Watch news roundups this year. We rattled off the 10 most popular editions already.
Without further ado, lets cruise through from 11 to 20 on our countdown of the Most Popular Certification Watch news roundups of 2023:
11) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 25 (June 21, 2023) — Random Quotation: The new IBM Project Manager Professional Certificate is intended to help "fast-track your journey into the high-growth field of project management, regardless of your prior experience." Need an on-ramp to a high-interest profession? Here you go.
12) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 31 (Aug. 2, 2023) — Random Quotation: Sort of like Sylvester Stallone in that one scene from — deep cut alert — Spy Kids 3, tech industry association CompTIA is about to take its certification program to the NEXT. LEVEL.
13) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 1 (Jan. 4, 2023) — Random Quotation: If there were an IT certification thunderdome, like in that one Mad Max movie that has the word "beyond" in the title, then there would probably have to be different rules. Because there are WAY too many IT certifications to have them all enter the thunderdome two-by-two.
14) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 13 (March 29, 2023) — Random Quotation: It's already been an annus horribilis for cryptocurrency, and the hits (in the sense of a struggling boxer taking blows to the noggin) just keep coming.
15) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 6 (Feb, 8, 2023) — Random Quotation: Sometimes breaking into IT can feel like a catch-22 scenario: You can only get professional IT experience by working at an IT job, but employers often won't hire candidates who don't have any professional IT experience.
16) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 40(Oct. 4, 2023) — Random Quotation: October means Halloween to many, and if you have a 15-foot yard skeleton taking up space in the basement, well, you almost have to get it out there. October is also National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM).
17) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 27 (July 5, 2023) — Random Quotation: While we're on the subject of cybersecurity, leading cloud computing provider Amazon Web Services wants aspiring IT professionals to lock themselves into two piping hot career specializations at the same time.
18) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 12 (March 22, 2023) — Random Quotation: It's an ongoing problem that the IT workforce needs to become dramatically larger than it now is. IBM recently commissioned a study to see what some of the obstacles are to funneling students into IT (or IT-adjacent) career paths.
19) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 47 (Nov. 22, 2023) — Random Quotation: Helping to pave the path from hard cash to hard drives was the ISACA entry-level certification suite, ITCA (Information Technology Certified Associate). ITCA is a single credential, but it combines certificates in five core IT disciplines that can be earned individually and separately.
20) Certification Watch, Vol. 26, No. 3 (Jan. 18, 2023) — Random Quotation: It takes five fingers (OK, four fingers and a thumb; you know what we mean) to make a fist, and a fist has power. Even a fist can't solve complex IT problems, however — you need IT skills for that.
