You said on mixed work loads, so that s assuming some multitasking, hence some encoding FI would easily make use of 8 threads while you would have 8 others strong threads for other tasks, because i dont think that one who do nothing with his PC while it s encoding some files. Now Intel s mixed...

In much less than a distant future, that is this year, AMD will provide a full plateform with Zen 5 based Epyc and MI400, for the time this is Zen 4 based Epyc + MI300 and they have best perf/watt and absolute perf even with the latter.

Of course that no one will believe you, that would amount to something like 3W/mm2, wich is just impossible, a current Zen 4 CCD can get to barely half this value, at 3W/mm2 with the same IHS the die temperature would get over 140°C.

Wich mean that there s 50% who are buying outdated Intel hardware wich is one gen late, at this rate they need to spend at least 50% more for an equivalently performing configuration, not counting the much bigger power comsumption bill, so there s 50% of the clouds executives who are incompetent.

You just forgot that a V-cache is used by 8 cores, it s not single core IPC wich is improved but only MT throughput with some select apps, if you do a ST test you ll see that the score is the same with and without V-cache.

Given the bus 128b width it s either 8 or 16, for 12GB a 192b bus is required, that would add useless costs for what is a low CU count GPU, indeed 40 CUs instead of 32 would had been more on point, dunno why they bother with such low CU count GPU given that the previous gen lower end was...

If the uarchitectural evolution displayed in MLID s alleged leaked slide are accurate then the average IPC improvement cant be less than 22.47%, and could be as high as 28.75%, depending of the ability to keep a high ALUs duty rate, wich will be still lower than in Zen 4 anyway.

Dunno what they are chasing here, because battery life wont be a probleme for AMD s lower end part as well, a high IPC core can be clocked lower while providing the same perf and this will compensate for its lower efficency at same frequency, you could even end with lower power at same throughput.

So about the same perfs as a 6C/12T AMD SKU, it is meant to compete with a cut down version of Kraken, the lowest part in AMD s next gen unless they go 4C/8T, at wich point LNL would be surrounded from top to bottom as well as from left and right.
