Yup I think it's pretty clear that Ada's caches allow it to get away with way lower Vram bandwidth than RDNA3 can.. But I sure don't know how one realistically gets 12gb N32 without cutting an MCD 😉

So since you do use Computerbase as a reference .. Where's this 7800XT that performs like a 4070 at 4070 power draw again? Because AMD more or less made a 12GB 7800XT in the 7700XT and that sure ain't it..

260-270w power consumption is pretty poor for N32 when N21/6800XT on last gen process is similar performing at 300-310w, and the original RTX 3080, an arguably faster card if including RT, is c. 330-340w and was criticized for power consumption at launch. 20-25% better efficiency than a gpu...

That case requires an ITX board which in itself is a significant premium especially outside US.. Take it from experience building a SFF PC, there are a vanishingly small set of MATX SFF cases which fit 3-fan GPUs...

Did you look at the graph and actually understood what I said? The RTX 3070, a Nvidia Ampere SKU is definitely holding its own in efficiency against the 7700XT, an AMD RNDA3 SKU, if you disagree with the results here then take it up with Computerbase, because that's what their testing is showing.

Very far out the efficiency curve it seems: Forget the Ada series, if a year ago anyone on this forum even dare speculate that any RDNA 3 SKU would have worse efficiency than a Nvidia Ampere SKU they would have gotten laughed at/banned, yet here we are...

Starfield literally released today (heck anyone without the premium versions can't play it yet) and there's already a free mod adding DLSS/XESS integration here, so unless modders have time machines it indeed is something that can be done in a matter of hours..
