Is the 1650 the best slot powered card available right now? I wonder if this is supposed to replace it. Hopefully this is a $150 card, we could use these at work and I'd probably pop one in my daughter's beater HP to replace the current 1650.
Speculation that Starfield is extremely memory/cache constrained. Wasn't Fallout 4 also very memory dependent? Knowing Bethesda their "new" engine is just duck tape and bailing wire on their age old turd of an engine. No clue why they won't either develop something decent from scratch or pay for...
I watched that last night which led me to popping in here and seeing what's up. I'm on a 5900X and a 4090 at the moment, I'll probably hold off on buying a new CPU/MOBO/RAM until Zen5 is released. Curious to see if AMD makes meaningful changes.
What I don't get is the EF would make insane amount of $$$ and be able to fund Ethereum development easily in perpetuity under PoS if they staked the treasury. I'd think that there would be more motivation. I understand a lot is at stake an up until ~ late 2019 the merge wasn't even possible...
This. Very easy to gain major control over a new PoS coin without some kind of bootstrapping like Ethereum did. Even then, it's not like PoW is perfect and without it's flaws in regards to distribution and accessibility. I wish there were CPU only algos that saw widespread adoption for PoW, that...
Yup. Low voltage, low clocks, memory OC. Up until recently I had a 6x reference 480 rig from July 2016 still going and sold the rig because I was moving. I still have some 580s going from May 2017. Only thing I've done to them is replaced fans once and thermal paste once. Still chugging along no...
Solana is simply more centralized than Ethereum and always will be. Even just client diversity is infinitely in Ethereum's favor with 7+ PoS clients and plans for over a dozen in the next 18 months. Ethereum isn't perfect, and there's plenty of valid criticism to be leveled at it, but Solana...
A rollup-centric road map in the long run will be more secure, decentralized, and have greater throughput than Solana. Growing pains on the way there for sure, but far more scalable than the short term game plan and impossible arms race that Solana is pursuing.
Only if the hardware is available. If it's only in the hands of a select few it "kills" GPU mining for the 99% of miners, and kills network security in the process (which would be a short sighted move by cartels). Ethereum's network currently has ~ 916 TH/s so assuming this hardware can't be...
