I would go with one of the more pro and smaller shops so you can choose what you need or want like color/scratch correction, scan resolution, telecine, etc etc. You can also rent the digitizers if you're close to a metro area or like if you're in LA there are tons of shops that do it.

Just telesync it till you figure out an archival method. Hell the TS just might be good enough. Go rent a projector and a DV camera and go at it. The projector should have audio outs that you can plug into the camera, voila telesynced. I haven't done this in decades since school but you know...

Discussion i7-11700K preliminary results

It's shocking that it uses 50% more peak power in avx2 loads than the equivalent 5800x. When we put that into context on AMD side, the 5800x is the single cpu in AMD's stack with the highest TDP per core. Considering that it has the same TDP as the 5900x and 5950x but only has 8 cores to spread...

The failure rate BS is a smear job. The usb issue... I keep reading about it but have not experienced this. Then again I don't use usb 2.0 and the issue apparently affects usb 2.0.

There's no myth. Yea there are gains that one has to bench to prove. You won't notice most gains with your eye. Stop acting like there's some proof that needs to be presented. This is for a pc that's not for the OP so I don't see any reason to overspend on some other persons behalf.

Audio noise in new set-up

This is counter to what you wrote when tested on a laptop. If the amp was bad you should have heard noise on the laptop as well. What is the difference in those two setups then?

It's can't be the MB, you're not using anything in it, ie. you're using USB so its all external except for USB itself which is either off the cpu or off the chipset. Whats your board/cpu etc? And what USB are you using, 2 or 3?

3600mhz with matched cl 16 timings is a good balance between cost and performance. There are gains going over 3600mhz speed however the gains are small and not noticeable to the eye yet the cost grows substantially. Thus 3600mhz or there about is fine for most.

Yea, I think its BS and that it's hilarious. They're not going to stop shorting, instead they are just not going to publish their positions etc. The thing is that these guys are connected to Robinhood who then feeds them RH's client order flows so they will always have a predatory stance.
