I right now have a 250GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD that is sitting inside the cupboard gathering dust. I right now have 2 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSDs in my system. One is partitioned into a 125 GB C drive for just Windows/Apps and a 1875 GB D drive for just Games. The 2nd 980 Pro in my system is just for Data storage with an E drive. In case anyone is wondering why I would be using an NVMe SSD for data storage, it's because I used to dual boot with Linux Mint and used that drive for Linux Mint but I don't any longer dual boot on this system and only use Windows 11 on this system and just tried to find some use for it. I've been thinking about installing the 250GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus and using it for Windows/Apps as the C drive and the 1st 2TB Samsung 980 Pro for Games as the D drive and keeping the 2nd 2TB 980 Samsung 980 Pro the way it is. Basically one letter logical drive per a physical drive in my system. Doing it this way, my OS will be on a slower drive, but then again I tested it with it installed on a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD and didn't notice the difference between that and my 980 Pro NVMe for the OS, so I don't think I will notice a slow down with OS disk operations on the 970 EVO Plus. I have an MSI X670E Tomahawk motherboard. So am I better off putting my 250GB Samsung 970 EVO plus to use as a dedicated OS drive than using a small partition on my 2TB 980 Pro for the OS?
