Spill itNot news.
The interesting stuff is once again in the front-end.

Ahem, the only 'epic' places to work in the CPU world would be Itanium era Intel or Zen era AMD 😎He works for the Nuvia(Oryon) CPU team. That's an epic place to work in.

Bonus points for those who get the first reference.
Can’t wait for a future CPU to be smart enough to follow its own rumor mill hype train and based on the aggregate consensus, it spoofs benchmark scores on launch so that the rumors look real.Obviously an NPU replaces the branch predictor so now rather than it running the program you have told it to the AI core runs the program it wants and just injects a result back to the calling program.
So in CB for example it will compute a simpler scene and just inject a score of 500,000,000 points dominating the bar charts that everything else might as well score 0. It won't actually work that fast but the benchmarks will be great.
In games the FPS counter will say 999 even if you are running at 8K with path tracing. It will feel like a stuttery mess but most reviewers benchmark with automated tests so they won't actually see how it plays, they will just see the results and report them as gospel.
Well the review articles will be written by a generative AI that has been fed the results skewed by the NPU and then page ranked by Google's Gemini. In games the FPS counter will say 999 even if you are running at 8K with path tracing. CPUGBTWTFBBQ1337 and this thread becomes self-aware and builds its own Zen thread complete with compiler, rumor, rage, lies, innuendos and fake benchmarks, brilliant. Can’t wait for a future CPU to be smart enough to follow its own rumor mill hype train and based on the aggregate consensus, it spoofs benchmark scores on launch so that the rumors look real.
When the first cpu generates its own memes I think I'll grab the popcorn and enjoy the show completely passively.CPUGBTWTFBBQ1337 and this thread becomes self-aware and builds its own Zen thread complete with compiler, rumor, rage, lies, innuendos and fake benchmarks, brilliant.
Desktop will be effected too. Zen 5 will be used for mining as well. At least Intel Arrow Lake CPUs will be in stock for normal consumers because of the lack of AVX-512.Cue funeral music for Intel's server market position.
Seem? They always were. AMD just exposed them.It really makes them seen as amateurs IMO.
Always? no.Seem? They always were. AMD just exposed them.
Your Rome 7742 will beat current Intel server CPUs. Milan made it embarrassing, and Genoa already nailed the lid on the coffin. Not sure what the next level is that you should call Zen 5, but it will only further the AMD lead in servers.Cue funeral music for Intel's server market position.
Let's hope the miners will leave the 8800X3D alone.Zen 5 will be used for mining as well.

Many CPU mining algos benefit from 3D V-CacheLet's hope the miners will leave the 8800X3D alone.
Shhhhh. Don’t say that out loud. Looks furtively at upcoming Zen5x3d supply chain …. Pulls at collarMany CPU mining algos benefit from 3D V-Cache
You should meet DevinWhen the first cpu generates its own memes I think I'll grab the popcorn and enjoy the show completely passively.
how is souped up laptop APU in any way related to semi-custom?Could this mean Strix Halo will be used for PS5 Pro with maybe 20GB RAM?
