Obviously an NPU replaces the branch predictor so now rather than it running the program you have told it to the AI core runs the program it wants and just injects a result back to the calling program.

So in CB for example it will compute a simpler scene and just inject a score of 500,000,000 points dominating the bar charts that everything else might as well score 0. It won't actually work that fast but the benchmarks will be great.

In games the FPS counter will say 999 even if you are running at 8K with path tracing. It will feel like a stuttery mess but most reviewers benchmark with automated tests so they won't actually see how it plays, they will just see the results and report them as gospel.

Can’t wait for a future CPU to be smart enough to follow its own rumor mill hype train and based on the aggregate consensus, it spoofs benchmark scores on launch so that the rumors look real.

Well the review articles will be written by a generative AI that has been fed the results skewed by the NPU and then page ranked by Google's Gemini.

Its AI all the way down boys. Only the Luddite Anandtech forums will remain a safe haven for curious bioware.

CPUGBTWTFBBQ1337 and this thread becomes self-aware and builds its own Zen thread complete with compiler, rumor, rage, lies, innuendos and fake benchmarks, brilliant.

No AVX-512 in arrow lake ?
Damn, I know ARL isn't a prime target for this but minimal support for ISA extensions should be mandatory IMO. Even slow implementation I don't care.

It really makes them seen as amateurs IMO.

Cue funeral music for Intel's server market position.
Your Rome 7742 will beat current Intel server CPUs. Milan made it embarrassing, and Genoa already nailed the lid on the coffin. Not sure what the next level is that you should call Zen 5, but it will only further the AMD lead in servers.

PS machine learning. Could this mean Strix Halo will be used for PS5 Pro with maybe 20GB RAM?
