Question Can closed water coolers be bled? (stupid question....)

Noticed the fans and radiator were gathering dust so I stripped the PC and cleaned all, I decided to take the cooler off and re-seat the CPU/replace thermal paste etc as it was built back in 2018. When I fired it up the cooler was making a noise like a cable touching a fan blade, I assumed it was an air bubble so moved the PC around and it stopped (no issues in the past). Then I noticed the main fans on the radiator were at full tilt and not slowing even the the PC was at idle, checked HWinfo and the CPU was at 73 degrees. Maybe I haven't seated the cooler correctly but it seems strange that immediately after getting air bubbles I'm having cooling problems, just wanted to confirm (as dumb as it sounds) that there's no way to bleed a closed water cooler? There's no evidence of leaks anywhere FWIW.

Enermax liqtech TR4 240mm water cooler
MB - Gigabyte X399 AORUS Gaming 7
GPU - Gigabyte AORUS GTX 1080 Ti
HDD C: - Samsung Evo 960 500GB
RAM - G Skill F4-3200C14-8GFX (64GB)
OS - Win 10 64 bit.
PSU - Seasonic SSR - 750 GD

I took the cooler off and the copper face has a convex bulge in the centre of about 0.2-3 mm, is this safe to remove and flatten or is it a new cooler job?

took the plate off and there's growth in the cooler, looks stuffed. Is 6 years decent for these things? I need a replacement fast and the easiest thing is to just re-order the same cooler ( I think there's a version 2 available) but don't want to waste money if this is an unusual failure for these things

The older Enermax AIOs had issues like you described. Time to replace it. Check out the Arctic coolers. They get great reviews and have a fan to blow air on the VRMs.

Yeah just found that same vid, seems like I got lucky with 6 years..... would you have any arctic model recommendation for a TR4 cooler? every time I search I keep getting AM4 results, nothing that mentions TR4 compatability. The Liquid Freezer models 2 and 3 both say they are universal but neither mentions TR4

decided against a watercooler, going for a punt on a Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 as it's getting impressive reviews for an air cooler.

Sorry, I thought the Arctics were TR4 compatible.

Air coolers are certainly a good idea if you need the most reliability.

Water cooling might look cool and be efficient but boy do they give you a headache if something goes wrong and you don't want to drop a bank on a new cooler.
Overall I want to salute your idea to comeback to the air cooler gang where the best thing are choosing a simple good ol' air cooler

I've used both. Current PC has an Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer II 280mm. It works relatively well...but, IMO, not great...certainly not as well as all the reviewers indicated...plus, it's not any quieter than an air cooler since it depends on 2-140mm fans to move air through the radiator. I have an older Noctua NH--U12P SE2 cooler from a build in 2011. It worked better than the AC AIO...but it was also only cooling an i5-760 CPU instead of the i5-13600K that I have now. I'd have to spend a bit of $$$ to get 120mm PWM fans if I wanted to use it. The original came with 3 pin fans...and I just don't know of any way to adapt 140mm fans to the air cooler. (nor do I think they'd work well)
