I noticed recently that I have a very weird issue with a specific combination of components in my system. I have a 32GB PNY USB 3.2 flash drive connected to my Insignia USB 3.0 powered hub which is then connected to a USB 3.2 port on my motherboard (MSI X670E Tomahawk). In this combination, frequently this flash drive will reset itself, bringing up a window showing the top of the directory structure, like it's been just inserted. This is only when connected to the first USB port of this USB hub. I tried a different Insignia powered USB hub (one that has 2 USB outputs for sharing 2 computers) and I was getting the same issue with that one as well. My other flash drives, even the PNY ones never had this issue but the other ones I had were USB 3.0. Connecting my PNY 32GB USB 3.2 flash drive directly to the USB port on the rear of my computer, I don't experience this issue with this flash drive resetting itself, and that's on the same USB port that the USB hubs were connected to that I experienced the issue adding the USB hub to the mix. I also tested this combination on another system at home and no issue with the flash drive resetting itself with this combination with the other system. The other system is a Lenovo mini-tower with an A10 7800 processor. Is it possible that a combination of three components, and just one of the components does not get along in the combination with the other components, maybe my motherboard does not get along with this flash drive connected to these USB 3.0 hubs that I have or my USB 3.0 hubs don't get along with the combination of this flash drive and my motherboard?

Well, I returned the PNY flash drive for a refund since I was within the return period and bought a 2-Pack 64GB Memorex USB 3.1 flash drives. Still the same issue with the USB hub resetting the flash drive frequently. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 22H2 as the OS. I also did a Clean with Diskpart on the flash drive then re-initialized it and re-formatted using the Windows Disk Manager to NTFS.

I tried the 2nd USB port of the USB hub and no issue with this flash drive resetting itself. Therefore, I don't think it's the USB port on my computer that is causing the issue, since connecting the flash drive directly to that USB port of my computer or using the 2nd USB port of the USB hub if connecting it through a USB hub with the USB hub connected to that USB port on my computer, the issue does not show up, so far.

I just tried the 3rd and 4th USB port on the hub and the flash drive is resetting on those ports as well. Also, I went back to test the 2nd USB port again and this time it's having the issue on that port as well. Therefore, all USB ports on this USB hub are having the issue.

I would try another, different hub. When you wrote powered, you mean a separate AC/DC adapter for it? Eventually those can fail, trying a different adapter is another option if you have one lying around, though if the only thing in the hub at the time that single USB flash drive, I'd expect that the hub ought to be able to function on bus power alone, unless the design of it doesn't allow that.
