Bold prediction here: Tomorrow will be a down day.
Which is why I bought 1 share of Facebook after hours at 419. Hopefully I can flip it tomorrow when people sell puts to lock in short term profits. If not, it was just one share so no big loss.

Chipotle earnings coming up. They describe the consumer as resilient. That's code for "people willing to pay our hiked up prices".

Haven't been to one in over a year after seeing a single burrito bowl going for $20.

Chipolte beat, shares back at all time high of $3,023 each. I like reading about company histories on Wikipedia sometimes. Here is a fun fact:

If it were not for McDonald's large investment and perhaps professional guidance to help them expand greatly prior to the 2006 IPO, who knows if Chipolte would have been anywhere near its current market cap of $80 BILLION dollars.

....with that in mind...

McDonalds sold their stake a few months after the 2006 IPO, turning $360M into $1.5B thinking they were pretty smart...had they held their investment until today (18 years later), that $1.5B would now be worth $77 BILLION dollars! (51x higher)

Thats a lot pesos for a burrito maker!

...and...

The current market cap McDonalds is only $200B. It would be 33% higher just on the CMG shares alone. MCD shares are only up 10x (not including dividends) vs CMG 51x since 2006. But then, who would have thought back in 2006 that burritos would be such a growth business even with several E.Coli scares!

People love their Chapottle. Food safety concerns from years past couldn't even deter people. I remember when I could put my arm over the sneeze guard and point my finger directly above the food items I wanted. It's now much harder to effectively communicate the thingies I want on my overpriced burrito bowl.

I never had any stock, but Chipotle has been a big winner for some. The 20 year return is 7200% and I think a big part of that is because their food being dramatically overpriced. Beans, rice and tortillas are dirt cheap and rarely jump in price.
I mentioned CAVA I think last year around $40. Many people think it will be the next Chipotle. Consider some for your gambling money.

You could get one Chipotle burrito bowl.
I let your first post slide. But twice means I have to point out your misleading posts. My wife and I share one burrito (beef barbacoa) for a $10.70 meal for two. And we leave full (extra beans, extra veggies, extra rice, extra salsa, and extra of most toppings are all free).

I dare you to get out the door at Chipotle for that price shown....
There would be sales tax, but still you can get a bowl for under $10 with tax. Water is free. Toss a few lemon slices in for free too.

Imma let you finish, but my burrito bowl comes out to $14.40. This use to be under $10 not too long ago. $9.45 and $8.95 for your flavorless unfilling bowl is way too much.

54% increase since 2015.

This was posted 9 months ago. I'm sure Chipotle increased prices since then. It's what they do.

Edit: and they did... https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...enu-prices-fourth-time-two-years/71153636007/

On top of that the portion sizes have decreased.

Your so-called "$20 burrito bowl" find is a $11.65 burrito. Then $7.85 in added guacamole.

Well it's official I finally got into index funds. Took a while to get setup properly as far as finding a good site and getting money transferred and all that but now I finally have it setup.

I might use this site for stocks too because the interface seems much more friendly than CI Direct Investing which is what I've been using for stocks. That one did not seem to have any option for index funds which was my issue originally and I didn't really want to switch since it's a pita. But I finally did it.

Looks like I'm buying at a good time too.

Google and Microsoft with pretty decent results. Google with better results and also announcing they're starting quarterly dividends and a $70 Billion buyback with ~12%+ AH. MSFT with decent results and ~4%+ AH. I assume that guidance hasn't been given yet, so those AH numbers might change.

Google was a killer trade today....and I missed it.. hit $152 low today on panic algo trading ... and is now $179 after hours. Biggest swing in a $2T stock I can remember.

Intel down 10% today. Down 33% YTD. May be a good buy to hold if you believe in Pats long term goals.

I may start buying. Their long term goals are being built about 20 minutes away from me.

IMO, the only reason to buy Intel stock right now is that you think The Invasion is happening sooner rather than later. Even then, Intel is probally screwed anyway because they are dependent on TSMC too.

Yes... The invasion.

The event that's not likely to ever happen and no sane investor factors into the market.

Clearly the Feds disagree, hence the CHIPS Act. I think China is waiting for the US to fold like a cheap suit.

From what I've heard, China needs at least a couple more years before they have the military power to challenge the US Pacific fleet.

Xi really set China back a few decades by going back to that old Comie mindset. They'll eventually have to go in a more capitalist, democratic direction. Once that's well established, I think we'll see a voluntary reunification. I just don't think it will happen in our lifetimes. Not to paint with too broad a brush, but my perception of the Chinese is that they tend to be conservative and traditional. But it's a cultural thing, not genetic.
