I won an item thru an online auction and needed shipping to my home.

I joined to comment on a topic I was interested in and found this forum via an internet search result. But due to the warm welcome I have received You won't need to worry about seeing me here on a regular basis. But be aware that it was not me that started throwing insults. It was that first prick that commented on my initial comment, that being said, you guys can ALL fuck off and die!!!

ln all seriousness, I am confused by the heat that I am taking over my comments on this issue. I simply gave a brief explanation of what I experienced doing business with a UPS retailer, which is exactly what this thread was about. I didn't make any personal attacks on anyone and all I have taken is abuse and nasty behavior. The experience I explained was 100% true and accurate and contrary to the first commenters opinion, it was totally out of my control. So where did I go wrong? Why am I deserving of the treatment I am being given? Other than responding in kind for being called a fool by WilliamM2 a "Platinum" member, who clearly did not understand my original post, I have done nothing wrong that I can see.

I wasn't given a choice as to who the shipping company would be. I did speak to them after the sale was complete and told them that the item didn't need any special packaging since it was already in a "pelican" type case. They assured me that they would use minimal packaging, which they did, but them jacked up the actual shipping rate. There really wasn't anything I could do about it other than opt for personal pick up of the item. But considering it was roughly 1500 miles from me I didn't see that as a practical option. And that is where they get you, they know you have no choice in the matter.we are all old and cranky here lol
now that i've reread your comment, that does sound pretty crazy. i've seen ebay sellers, amazon 3rd party retailers and and some other places absolutely making profit on shipping.
did they calculate and display the shipping price before buying, or only afterwards? if someone hit me with a huge shipping charge like that after the fact i'd be tempted to try to cancel the order.
