This again. You could have Dr Su answer a question about pricing or launch dates 6 months in advance and she'd potentially still be wrong.
Its generally considered to be a good practice, in case things are possibly subject to change and you are aware of that, to not present them as facts. If Lisa Su said pricing would be this and that 6 months before release without using language that would signal possibility of change, and then the pricing would be different, people would be questioning her as well, rightfully so. Anyway, somehow i dont see her doing that.

This is what Fjodor2001 is hinting at.

A smidge too serious I think. The snippets and kernels of rumours that comes from the various posters here will always have to be couched in a large dose of probabilities. Its a hobby for them, and for us. Noone should be taking any of this so seriously to demand that our prognosticators moderate their language to such a degree as to satisfy stockholders and financial institutions.

From my perspective, its always implied that any of this stuff can be wrong, regardless of the language chosen by the writer. I still come back here, since its a interesting hobby trying to keep up to date on humanity's engineering limits at the atomic scale

I think *hinting* is being very kind. What I'm pointing out, is that any talk of pricing or launch dates always comes with those caveats, they can change. We still end up talking about them.

I was sitting here drinking my beer while catching up on this thread and had an epiphany. As much as we all like to poke fun at MLID, RTG, or any of the other tech "journalists" who are are at least at the front of the centipede, I realized that those lucky $%#!s are basically getting paid to read forum posts and here I (and presumably you as well) am doing it for free!

Now tell me, who's the real fool?

Assuming I manage the surf the wave of a Ballmer peak I'm working towards all the way home, would any of you fine gentlemen care to contribute to MopetarTech? I've realized that I don't even need to talk out of my ass when I can let other people do it for me. Also, I can deduct a 9950 X3D and a RTX 5090 as a business expense.

I don't remember any official mention of Strix being made at Korea. The only one I remember was the China presentation where AMD confirmed Strix for a generic 2024. Lisa Su just reconfirmed it in the latest earnings call and Papermaster just confirmed that Strix will be presented at Computex.

As far as I know from rumor mill, both Lunar and Strix will be on shelves by August/September. And in Strix case, higher design adoption and ramp compared to HWK as Lisa said in the call.

Quite probably at Computex you will get the presentation and performance preview, after a month or two you'll get the Asus first notebooks (probably again the G14 new version) and the other OEM will follow after a couple of months from the first Asus laptops. Same story as the other launches, AMD could score some design wins more this time if the ST performance will be substantially above the competition (especially with Dell and HP).

Ah, dang. The secret's out...

His source is the usual "I've been told..."

For 40 CUs to reach 35 TFLOPs through dual issue it would need a GPU clocked at 3.4GHz.

This should be significantly faster than the RX7600 and perform closer to the RX7700 XT, so RGT's specs and performance estimates don't seem to match.

Also, having CPU cores in the IO die seems strange. If they're lower-clocked Zen5c cores then they should be exposed in the OS.
Unless they're low-power ARM Cortex cores managing I/O and security tasks, but those have been in AMD's CPUs and SoCs for ages, at least since Zen1. Maybe that's new to Paul from RGT, but it isn't new to anyone remotely familiar with AMD's designs.

Won't happen. AMD Korea said launch at the end of the year and availability is expected in the early first half of next year. Think about Hawk Point, it will be a repeat.
why the denial?

bandwidth (and MALL).

They aren't.
Different RTL.
Called Zen5LP.

This isn't the usual micro-SMU.

Hawk point was launched in early January and it took barely 4 months to land at BestBuy, what make you think that for Strix it would be 6 months + ?..

No need to cope just yet.

That's just wrong.
But you know that anyway.
@mikk provided the source. Now please come up with an excuse, like you always do.

First rule of fight club/CPU forum is attack the post not the poster. You just keep doing it anyways. Enjoy your vacation.

Strix coming in 2025 directly contradict what Lisa said in the earnings call. So I'd argue it was just a generic statement from AMD Korea.

> We expect Client to be up sequentially
> Increase in units and asp due to AI PC
> AI PC coming with Strix for premium devices in second half
> AI PC across the rest of the stack/portfolio in 2025

But Computex is just a month away. Everything will be clear there.
