The 2016-20 map was the really badly gerrymandered one. My house was part of TX-35 in that map where the state of Texas tried to peel off some of Cuellar's TX-28 base to lump in with Lloyd Doggett's Austin base to run up the score there while trying to take TX-28 for the GOP. That former TX-35 district basically followed I-35 down from Austin to eastside San Antonio.Gerrymandering.

Unfortunately, the supreme court has ruled that bribery is almost always legal (well, at least for Republicans in prior cases...), even if they get a conviction I'd see the Supreme Court reversing on appeal if they follow their own precedent. Absent a recording of a confession basically stating "thank you for your bribe, my vote on your bill is now assured" which is essentially the standard now required, based on the court's prior rulings.
