Currently doing this anonymously.

Some questions:

What are these final credits?

What is the command line to claim these credits to an account if I wish to do so later?

I just copy the folder to someplace else and run the EXE and it will start working normally with attribution to the configured account or do I need to use the special command line option every time?

I like the simplicity of F@H so not going to participate in anything else.

There is a quick return bonus that depends on time from download to returning it to the server. So if you use the PC or turn it off at night in the middle of a task the final estimated credit will go down.
Edit the config.xml file to add a username/team and restart it. There is a space in the GUI to add it as well.

How does this team thing work? Sorry for the n00b question again. What's the benefit of joining a team (suppose AT if it has one) as opposed to doing it solo?

If I add the credentials to the config file, do I get the points already credited?

No benefit to joining a team. You do get added into Stefan's awesome sauce weekly DC points post. That way you can compare yourself to other members points total and get points envy forcing you to upgrade your hardware. That's how I got from a ryzen 5 1600 with a gtx 750 to a 5950x and twin 3070s. I HATE YOU ALL!

The points you have earned will stay with the anonymous user.

You're want a passkey as well to get the bonus. It also goes in the config.xml file. After 10 successful tasks you're get the bonus.

The benefit of joining a team (e.g. Team 198) and creating a passkey is that you get more points for the TeAm, which in turn helps us achieve world <redacted>

The anonymous user does not receive quick return bonus. In other words, folding anonymously (which can be done without or with team affiliation) receives very low credit, compared to folding pseudonymously with passkey.

Some other bits:
– GPUs fold faster than CPUs (even big CPUs).
– One big CPU slot on a CPU gets more credit than two slots combined on the same CPU. But unfortunately, current FAHCore has certain limits of how many threads it can occupy. I don't remember what the exact limit is.
But if you are electric power constrained, you want to fold on a modern GPU _only_, not on any CPU (small or big).
– Linux folds faster than Windows.

But most importantly:
Folding@Home is not a Pentathlon discipline! :-D

It did max 32 on a 48T server. Which is fine I guess for my needs.
