It is extremely difficult to impossible for the Russians to advance much, if at all, when the Ukrainians have sufficient shells/rockets and the tubes to fire them from. They certainly have a manpower problem but the Russians only made progress when the AFU ran short of firepower.
IDF brass is pushing for the same thing now because they are wearing themselves out trying to play whack a mole with Hamas in Gaza with no political plan. The prospect that the military pushes Netanyahu out of power and calls elections is non-zero now.
I'm not a fan of Woodford's products in general but Costco had this for $108 and they got me. Most places I've seen it at $150 or more if they even have it. Besides the annoying 700ml-ness I like it. The higher proof balances out what I perceive as excessive sweetness in their regular line. Is...
JDAM-ERs seem to be working even with major EW efforts by the Russians. I assume Boeing has been tweaking the software in the guidance system to counter Russian GPS denial.
It's more him admitting they don't have the available resources for a push on Kharkiv unless they pretty much shut down most operations in the east. Also trying to do Bakhmut in Kharkiv likely means the Ukrainians burn Belgorod (and other places) to the ground in revenge. It also risks the US...
Once in a while we talk about if we would move to LA if he had a good opportunity at his company's office in Culver City. Unless it was a giant step up the answer is probably not because it's just a nightmare to get around the city. People here in SD think the traffic is bad lol.
Berkeley to Pac Heights is more like an hour plus by transit. It's one of those trips nobody makes unless they absolutely must or are crazy would be murderers. Other examples include: Manhattan to Brooklyn. To the west side of LA from anywhere else in the metro. Etc.
If there is a geographical problem for them I think it's more that Novo is in a valley than it being seaside. Ukraine downs drones approaching Odessa all the time.
More likely they just are not allocating many resources to their efforts.
This is not always a positive. A few weeks ago we were getting drinks at a nicer restaurant in the bar before trundling over a couple blocks for some Japanese food (they always have a long wait). Cybertruck pulls up in front and doesn't want to pay for the valet. So it goes around the block...
I still have mine but the national political coverage is a total disaster. Unmitigated catastrophe. They get basic facts wrong, constantly publish interviews of people who lie about their political status/motivations, and seem to let the right dictate what they consider important to cover and...
Apparently they also successfully hit the refinery at Tuapse which the Russians just spent months repairing.
Kind of remarkable at this stage that there is still a major lack of AD fire and apparently no organized anti-drone teams like the Ukrainians have despite the Russians saying they have...
The only real viable option is to put Russians attacking Ukraine into the ground as efficiently as possible and do so without end in sight. Either make them give up or enjoy the slightly more peaceful of a world with millions fewer Russians in it.
Biden-Harris campaign has accepted a CBS invitation for a VP debate. This probably completes what they are willing to do.
Apparently a lot of grumbling from Trumpworld about how they've stolen their thunder here.
So far Trump is spending his time lowering the bar for Biden again just like he did in 20. So as long as they don't roll a casket out on stage with him in it he can clear. Once it is apparent that he is not, in fact, literally deceased they'll say he was on drugs again.
The Ukrainians simply need firepower and lots of it. They'll never be able to contend with Russia's manpower advantage without it and should not be expected to.
He does state that such negotiations should only happen with Ukraine's consent. Given that the Ukrainians don't trust a word of what the Russians say I don't think that will be forthcoming real soon.
Israel certainly would not be the first state that falls to its own far right that was sympathized with and abetted for far too long. It is certainly arguable this has already effectively happened. The odds of the country cracking up or becoming a dictatorship in my lifetime seem pretty high...
I'll put the odds of them even happening at 50/50. I still think Trump will probably back out if he doesn't get them to change the rules, format, or moderators according to his wishes. Fake news media is being very mean and nasty to your favorite president. Debates rigged for sleepy Joe.
I assume a large part of the calculus here is the idea that the more regular people hear and see Trump again the less they'll like him instead of effectively imagining him as kind of a vessel for their own views again.
