Benchmark bias. You only buy Intel if you have a specific need (hackintosh, quicksync), or you have too much money. The average consumer wouldn't notice the difference between the 2 in everyday use. Because AMD is significantly cheaper than Intel, you can use the extra money towards something...

Need to upgrade to "stronger" wifi device

You know, I was in a similar predicament with weak wifi signals, packet losses, etc. I thought I'd give powerline a try, since I had nothing to lose, and it actually worked out really well. Powerline; there are ethernet adapters and wifi extenders if the device you're using does not have ethernet.

Wasteland 2 is looking more awesome by the update

I predict this game will be quite buggy and have an unintuitive UI. Would love to be proven wrong though. But when you have this much content, it takes a lot of time to do a quality check. And let's face it, it's never on top of the priority list. Very few companies care deeply about their games...

Moving HDD to another computer with current OS?

I used to think it would cause problems if you just swapped out drives with different hardware, but it's not, for the most part. Just uninstall any drivers / hardware specific applications that will not exist on the new system and swap the drive. During the first boot it'll install new drivers...

Running your OS (always) from a USB

It's true, running an OS on a flash drive will wear it out much faster. OS' do lots of reads and writes, flash drives are usually formatted in fat32/exFAT specifically for less I/O.

Which of these drives should the pagefile be on?

Sounds like it's just the software giving you a hard time for that. If you need one, make the absolute minimum size of a pagefile on any drive. Like 10mb or whatever it is. You won't notice a difference.

It kinda depends on what you're doing. My rule of thumb is if you have more than 4gb, just disable the page file altogether for general use. With 8gb, there's very little that could use all that memory.

XFX RMA Experience?

I didn't necessarily RMA, but the fan on my video card was clicking so I asked them about it. I was cool with replacing my own heatsink on the video card, so they just sent me another heatsink, no charge. Pretty cool.

Is Chkdsk good enough to test a hd?

If you did that in DOS, it's likely Seatools can't recognize your motherboard's AHCI controller, so flip your SATA controller mode to IDE and it'll work fine. Might be the same case in Windows, but you really don't want to be scanning your OS drive while in Windows.
