So if ram kits are stable in memtest86 but memory tests are unstable in windows, what does that mean? Does that rule out the cpu as an issue as well? I never replaced the SSD, could that cause errors in Prime 95, OCCT memory tests etc?
I'm going to test one by one with 6 sticks OCCT first and if stable memtest86. Is it better to load motherboard defaults and test or do load XMP and lower speed to 2133?
5 minutes of OCCT is enough to get errors so I have just used that for the most part. I did give blended on prime95 a go and windows diagnostic tool. What you are saying about a memory issue would make sense since it's memory related bluescreens.....but I can't imagine 6 sticks of ram (2 brand...
I'm only running 2 sticks of ram atm, they are 2 seperate kits of 16gb which can cause issues itself. I have been hesitant to up the voltage too much but I will give the 1.4-1.45 ram voltage with manual timings a go. If that doesnt work I will start from scratch with 1 stick at a time at 1.4v...
Appreciate you taking the time to post this.
On the previous mobo it was crashing with 1 stick at 2133MHz. I have 4 sticks 8gb sitting here and tried a few in different combinations.
On this mobo I have tried with 2 sticks at default speed and timings (2133MHz) and it still crashed. This...
XMP loaded and everything left on auto apart from voltages.
NO idea what any of these settings do but tRDWR is 7 on one stick and 8 on the other. Is that normal? OCCT memory test failed this morning.
I think maybe I have got it. I upped the SOC/northbridge to 1.1, vddp and vddg to 1.0 and the other one that i forget to just under 1.1 . Passes some short OCCT memory tests as well as stable on desktop. Crosses fingers.
I have never actually returned a computer part in my life. It seems like...
Didn't think about LLC . I remember messing with that on my 2500k overclock. That's a few years ago now :confused_old:
It does sound like a decent thing to try though since it only seems to have issues at high clocks. Desktop use, games which use a couple of threads etc. CPU stress tests, mem...
I have tried default and the current settings. I also tried upping the VRAM DREF . No idea what the VDDP/G even is so have left it alone. I have been very hesitant to play with too many of the voltages since its a 3d chip.
It happens during low load/desktop usage. If it was only during high usage I could just limit the tdp of the cpu. That wont help with single core boost though.
I'm back again with another computer related problem
I have instability on my gaming PC after an upgrade. Random blue screens with memory related codes. Chrome instability etc.
5800x3d, b450 mortar titanium, currently 1 16gb kit of 3200 ram at xmp settings and 1.35v
I tried
Bios...
I run a bunch of Haswell based AIO's with 8gb ram and they work great with windows 10. Because these only have 4gb, I downloaded a version of windows that removes most of the background processes and also removes automatic update access. I didn't think it would be a problem as none of the pc's...
I don't really want to throw them away as with an SSD they are actually more than fast enough to run a single chrome browser. Replacement would cost at least $2000 AUD as well.
I originally installed chrome Flex.......which worked great apart from it not recognising any of the usb drives I...
Hi all
I have just spent a couple of hours installing SSD's and a custom version of windows 10 (without access to updates) on 6 desktop pc's. They work fantastic with one small issue.............I can't find a driver the the Intel Graphics. It looks like Intel only supports 6th gen plus on...
Probably a good thing but it's hard to really know without working there. People love to hate on him which is both amusing and probably justified. Nothing he works on seems to be especially good.
Cut HUB some slack. You know how easily a video card gets damaged when delivered overland in the pouch of a carrier kangaroo ?
Reviews of 7900xtx and 4090 make me long for a bitcoin resurgence. I want my video card investments to be profitable, not cost me thousands. Buying top end seems silly...
Sydney Australia. This was the first time I bought from Ali Express as a bit of a test. I will definitely shop from there in the future, although being careful on the seller/product specs is probably a good idea.
They don't do computer parts but I have bought a lot of phones, laptops, random...
Ali express has some decent deals. I got a Chinese Rx 580 (rebaged 570?) For the price local retailers are selling a gt 730. Runs stable, looks nice, fan is not too loud and arrived quickly.
Bought myself a 5800x3d upgrade to my current mobo based on the super cheap cost compared to the alternatives. Tested a couple of games and saw a huge increase from what I had before (literally turned one game from sub 30 chop fest to 60fps beast). Less than a week later, I am looking at this...
I gave up on top tier phones a few years ago. I bought an x3 pro for about 300 AUD 18 months ago. Despite being a few gens old I have not noticed any slowdown on anything with the Snapdragon 860. Battery life is great and photos are good. It has NFC, night mode etc etc. Its also cheap enough I...
Why is life so difficult. 7700x, 5800x3d,13600k and waiting for a 7000 series X 3d are all valid options. It was much easier when the choice was between a 2500k or 2700k.
If there is a bias it's that we focus on the enthusiast DIY market so much. Such a small part of the overall market. Having said, it's a market AMD has been doing very well in over the past few years over several generations. I don't think there was a reason to expect it would change radically...
I mostly use Bangood to buy tech stuff from China but they don't really do computer parts. Is there a safe site like Bangood that sell's cpu's etc? Alibaba seems like you need to check carefully to avoid being ripped off.
7000 series is getting a small discount over here in Aus.Perhaps there is the potential for sales during back Friday after all. I know I will hate myself if I get a non 3d CPU though
Yep it was Brayan's Wheres Wally Video I was talking about. It does seem like a great time to build a new system. Something like the 5600/5600x seems extremely good value. :p Shame the 7000 series has not seen a price cut as well. I was originally going to upgrade to the 7700x but it really...
Prices for AMD 5000 series are really starting to come down in Australia atm. I am watching a Youtuber atm who mentioned that price changes seem to be happening in most countries but not the US. It's a shame the 5800x3d is in such demand due to crappy price of 7000 series.
Haha. Funny the thing's that will trigger different people to leave a website for good. I still religiously refuse to click on any links for Toms Hardware (when you die and your life flashes before you eyes, how much of it do you want of it not to had ray tracing) and the Verge (the response of...
Bit harsh to blame 'the' education system as it's a global phenomenon across many countries. If anything, many education systems around the world have been dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming.
Having said that, my undergrad degree was in history/English lit so I love a good...
