    Not really, this is working for Radeon -> GeForce. This DDU approach isn't working for NV drivers. Those are still causing issues when you are switching to Radeon. Windows reinstall is required due to some mess/hacks GeForce drivers causing on system level

    Mint is Ubuntu based and yes you can install mainline kernels from official Ubuntu repo Anyway, what are you describing is pretty weird. You can try to install CoreCtrl (It should be in official repos - not sure about that, I'm on Fedora) and check your GPU utilization, clocks etc.
