what a bucket of redacted
I am gonna be direct- so many women at "leader" positions is for me clearly the reason why Intel is in this crap
Pat good luck, those are very hard to...
please
what does have a throughput benchmark, which has very low depndancy on bandwitch, latency have to do with gaming min fps
cinebench is the worst benchmark for correlation with gaming fps
I didn't comment devices/hardware, but hardware+whole ecosystem
MS invests a lot into ARM+windows (x86 migration) ecosystem
IMO MS is working in behind on a chip for its cloud servers and laptops, maybe even mobile restart
but Apple gained a lot for free and I am saying that as M1 macbook air...
IMO I wouldn't even think of upgrade from 9700K, it is not worth it
tune your system, especially memory and uncore clock and memory timings
keep your system clean as much as you can without the bloatware that is now very popular, how can you justify the moar coarz
your 9700K won't push as high...
QFT
IMO the win on ARM is a will be more important then ever
MS shot themself in the foot providing the SW base for apple while having worse performing product (surface)
Microsoft supporting ARM is a big deal for the world
IMO Intel can now release TGL-H when rocket lake is out and soon icelake-sp
both rcl-s and icl-sp are a little meh and serve as equalizers
now desktop, laptop and server have the same IPC
my prediction is both alder lake and sapphire rapids will come when its needed =sales decline
until then...
looking at alder lake info
gaming wise I am not so convinced
alder lake looks to have cache structure of tiger lake/skylake sp
we dont know if ring or mesh or what between the small and large cores
ddr5 4800 will have catastrophic latency and will be expensive
gaming wise alder lake doesnt...
Looking at those reviews, the prominent sites did the worst work
You have to watch youtube videos to get more info
I was interested in the new mem controller- that is partially answered with synthetic measurements- i wonder if this new mem controller is a production test of alder lake/later...
oh I couldn't say it better after 2 weeks as macbook air m1 owner
for the topic my opinion is Intel is starting to break the backwards compatibility with alder lake -s, the hybrid design
when the atom core reaches the "acceptable" performance- skylake level and I guess it will be in like 2021...
ofc macbook air icelake had heat issues, the cooling system is not a cooling system
I wanted to buy it for my son for light youtuber editing and music, but after some youtube videos where they opened the case ...no
just watch the icelake macbook air videos..but prepare a bucket if you can't make...
CB single core test can't overheat macbook air...or yes?
even with passive cooling it should be very cool based on that tdp
unless we have tdp and tdp as with our beloved 2 x86 manufacturers
exactly, I remember dothan small form factor boards with 2.0GHz dothan ovecrlocked to 2.6GHz faster than the p4 emergency editions
but IMO they are trying to avoid than message now
are you really sure about it?
I can't find any data about this, the article itselft has the statement of latency but with no data support behind it
the min fps numbers are so low...
if it really is the latency issue (min fps really is latency based) we should have a measurement of like 10300H to...
IMO the real reason is rocket lake s
Intel cant release a H CPU which will be faster than anything else they have
And ofc they have tons of 14nm capacity so they must use it
https://www.notebookcheck.net/eGPU-gaming-Ice-Lake-U-processors-offer-nearly-50-better-performance-in-some-games-than-Comet-Lake-H-processors-do.498840.0.html
interesting
this should be a prediction of rocket lake improvement imo over sky/cometlake
it is ofc difficult to measure the TB3...
I will believe Those gaming numbers when I test the chip myself in gaming critical situation with tuned system. I already made a mistake by buying 3900x as gaming chip, tested in running alone on the grass field....
APP wise we are continuing in the era of hedt renamed chips and 250-300w on...
I must say I am excited to see what Intel more14+ can actually do. Mainly in gaming. Desktop CPUs are for me today from 200+EUR enough in throughput for home/office productivity tasks.
consumer grade CPUs became server ready 3 years ago for most local loads
just the internet of productivity predenders needs 20k in CRB20 score while rendering with ultrabook closed inside new shiny leather pack
the whole tigerlake laptop offer is a big lol
I dont know if the makers got their brains out but it looks like we need to wait for MSI and microsoft to release their devices
and we are not talking about special cooling design, just all run like 12W sustained which is a big fat no for U laptop...
I am gonna repeat myself - TDP has zero value today
TDP as design was a number representing heat flow density- power/area considering heat spots as AVX units etc while doing the worst heat flow workload
today as an exact value without knowhow what it really represents has no value
the buying...
:)
first setup can't clock higher than 3.0 and now second fu.d up thermal management- let it overheat so it can throttle to have lower overall throughput
my tip for the second setup is that it forces the CPU to go higher than the cooling system can manage
overall I am mightly dissapointed by the...
the is something wrong with the laptop, look at the frequency max
like web browsing here
https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel-tigerlake-linux&num=11
phoronix should't even publish this, looks like f..d up bios or what
IMO it would be better if they acquire small talent company
this a full scale corporation
merging together will distract the good engineers to politics
oh finally someone
however increase the 9900K to 160+, thas my experience, however short in BF5
the gaming testing needs to evolve, especially in the time of 144Hz monitors
IMO @tamz_msc reaction was about making statement from we dont know sample from we dont know population from we dont know...
I think we will need 10+cores to age well on PC (if someone wants to keep the CPU longer)
Consoles have 8C so the design focus is done, but PCs have lots of bloatware...
I am not convinced by AMDs gaming slide
I've seen this with my 3900X to be pretty on par with 9900K, now it looks so much worse
which is a dream far away, I had a 9900K for 2 weeks and it is another league, gaming benches don't show it, because they test more of general gameplay than gaming...
my bottle of Jack awaits
but I save it for the installation, I need to be quick not to get drunk before it posts :)
the problem starts with unpacking, the is always the first glass...and then the second..
IMO some clients got it already
Intel should imo focus on low thread up to 28 workstations for per thread performance
Icelake so as server products looks dead to me
you mean this ? https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Swift-5-Sneak-Peek-Preview-Tiger-Lake-iGPU-attacs-Entry-Level-GeForce.496234.0.html
far better implementatation while being much lighter than that asus crap
with current designs number of choices looks a little thin.....
no competent 3:2...
