So, I have alse been thinking about how AMD could go about increasing core counts but more conservatively, without a massive overhaul. Looking at the CCD sizes so far, the shape more specifically, they have all been rectangular that is quite far from a square. So they could increase the number...
I'm not defending their pricing entitlements. But what you say makes no sense. A workstation part should have both. The desktop perks included.
Also did you all catch that no unregistered DIMM for you? Only registered memory supported.👌🤞😎
According to Dylan the cuts only cover Half of the dividend. I wonder how @TheELF justifies all that. Is keeping that a good move while cash flow negative for quite a while?
Tons of copium over client, where entire channel is flooded with Alder and Raptor Lake. I was stunned AMD maintained client ASP annually. They made their choice and a very based one. Totally pointless shipping tons more when nobody is buying.
Without this bug.<redacted> thing OS support is not even relevant. Userspace programs can just query cpuid and run their own codepaths as they want on any normal processor.

I believe current sales are already down there or lower. Not convinced such sales would justify the effort which is more than just chip design. But that itself bad enough apparently.
Nowhere near 1%, they sell millions of Macbooks every quarter. The Mac Pro is also the most neglected and obsolete of the lineup. Has been for a decade. Most of the big costumers from long ago have defected by now. The new one would have to be something that actually entices buyers back.
This is an important point that many people have not yet coped with. Hyperthreads drastically cut per thread performance, hopefully to more than half of what a single thread can achieve.
Lmfao looks like the market has bottomed out. Gamers have already seen the lowest prices for videocardz. I do actually have some hope and respect for them if what HUB says about XTX outselling the 4080 significantly is true.
