I returned the generic fan which was faulty (the speed surged). I decided to try a few drops of oil on the OEM fan and WALLA as we say in Brooklyn, it woiked! Virtually silent!
I'm replacing my 128GB SSD C: drive with a 240GB SSD. I've created a disk image on an HD. My goal is to restore my current Win11 system and dual boot with Linux. I'm not clear on how to do this. Once I remove my current C: drive I no longer have an OS so how do I go about resoring W11? Thanks.
Thanks for all the replies. Next step is to restore my W11 install from a disk image I've created onto the new SSD. I'm not clear on how to do that. I'll post a separate question.
My current Win11 C: drive is 128 GB. I'd like to ditch Win11 completely and use only Linux but there are a few Win programs I still need to run that I'm not sure emulators like Wine or Bottle support so I think the best solution for now would be dual boot Win/Linux. I got a 240GB SSD but now I'm...
I'd like to use my daily computer (HP Elitedesk 400 G7, Nvidia T400, 16GB, Win11) for HTPC also. The problem is when I hook up my TV the new resolution screws up my desktop and moves my shortcuts around. How do I solve that? Would creating a second desktop work? I'm not clear on how that would work.
I got a 42MP camera and the large files are bogging down my post processing so I want to upgrade my cheapo Radeon R7 430 for photo editing and basic video editing, no gaming. Recommendations for a single slot card for 2 monitors in the $100-$150 range appreciated. Linux support also would be...
Why do I have 3 Pictures folders? Win11 is on the C: Drive and I moved all my media folders (Pictures, Music, Video) onto the D: Drive. Two of the Picture folders just have XBox crap which I never use. How do I get rid of them? Thanks.
After looking at the specs the G5 looks like a better option for not much more with processor options up to i9 9900. Can't imagine needing more than that.
I'm getting an HP Elitedesk 800 g3 SFF. I'm looking for a mid-range budget friendly low profile card for streaming, and basic video & graphics editing (no gaming). I need 3 ports: 1 HDMI (for streaming) and 2 Display Ports. Recommendations appreciated.
I got an HP EliteDesk 800 (https://media.flixcar.com/f360cdn/HP-4611318083-4aa6-9248eeap.pdf)
that I want to use as an HTPC. It has 2 display ports and 1 VGA but no HDMI. I have 3 options: 1. Swap the VGA port for an internal HDMI board (https://www.ebay.com/itm/225144654194), 2. A display port...
What worked was changing the drive letter in Disk Management. Unfortunately I discovered that after resetting W10. Now I have a bunch of dead shortcuts and folders in the Start menu. Where is this data stored so I can delete it easily? Thanks.
HELP! This is really bizarre. My W10 Pro 20H2 File Explorer won't recognize any USB stick larger than 1GB! It recognizes a 4GB stick but will only format it to 1GB and won't see my 32GB and 64GB sticks at all even tho I can see and format it in Disk Management. I think this started after I did...
