    8GB VRAM not enough (and 10 / 12)

I double checked, I somehow got Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 years ago. Must have been one of those freebies in 2020 or '21. Its not PS+ because those installed games can't work now since I'm not a PS+ subscriber. Hmm, so $60 for this mess or free at 1080p or whatever rez the ps4 puts out at 30fps.

Good call. I saw the small heatsink there of the gpu in the case and it got me wondering. Looking at the Palit website, it is a single fan card so that explains the high temps and fan speed. So a loud, small 4060 single fan card for $300. Reminds me of the cheap single $279 2060 cards...

Interesting, I'd heard DLSS was so bad on nvidia that I shouldn't use it. I guess I should test it at some point.

STE is just unstable overall these days, for some it seems worse with UE5 but it wasnt great with UE4. My 2060S runs the game ok, better than it used to in UE4. I don't remember the settings I use off hand other than I turned on FSR2 which helps keep the fps up with fewer dips. Game doesnt look...

    AAA's Doom

"Do not buy". Uh, I don't. Most is at deep discounts because as I mentioned, the games are rarely worth full price. As mentioned above, bundle deals are often the best value. Yes, one should exercise more control instead of buying into the modern marketing mindset of "consume product, be excited...

    AAA's Doom

No, just no. Utterly silly. 4k has been pushed by the hardware industry first and foremost to sell new gpu's and monitors. Second, if I'm going to have to pay more for 4k textures etc., can I get a game that actually runs well or isn't a buggy mess for the first 6-12 months of its retail life. A...

Well here we go... ram in theory doesn't matter that much in Homeworld 3. 1080p tests from gamegpu. The most interesting part though, is that gamegpu confirms what I've seen reported by the early access players in the Steam forums, the game's built in benchmark does not represent gameplay...

Yeah, I'm more impressed that this CEO can do decent PR. I want it in writing, or namely that there is no link requirement listed on the Steam page. That and they let those 177 countries back in to the game as it were. CEO's tweet on how the linking was not in original contract. Maybe this...

It wouldn't surprise me, though Sony has had no problem putting some of their games on GoG, drm free. If they require PS+, that will just kill sales even more. They raised PS+ to $80 last year and that was what finally got me to cut off PS+. I'm not going to pay for it for PC games when I didnt...

Its gone from bad to worse to ugly. Gotta love Sony, constantly stepping on their own two feet. This is getting silly enough that I may just restart my ban on all Sony products in the future. Certainly the only games of theirs I would buy on PC now would via GoG like Horizon Zero Dawn. I wish...

No doubt. I miss some of those old case designs. All about rgb and no 5.25 bays. But now we need all that free space in cases for 360mm rads to cool these Intel chips at 250+ watts.

Well, I would hope a 4060ti 8GB runs the game just fine. The minimum specs are for 7-10 year old parts. The gameplay issues and bugs are more of a concern from what I've read than the graphics/cpu performance. Manor Lords Req from Steam:

Incompetence that is often alleviated by ram or yes, better compute in 1-3 generations of chips. Welcome to PC gaming. Starfield, FO4 and anything else Bethesda puts out. Or Ark 1.5 with UE5 engine. I'm no fan of sloppy game devs but 8GB is holding them back at this stage. Why buy them at...

Fallout 4 update means nothing. The game has been the typical Bethesda game for years and the patch has made things worse for many people's systems. Many with high end machines. I've read reports that some people can't go higher than 30fps to be stable. Could be mods, could not be. If I remember...
