You know I'm still not quite sure if those days were just more fun and interesting or I was just younger and more engaged in things. Maybe some of each.
Another memory... Socket A and ECS mobos.... lots of good prices an modded bios... would last 6 or so months an PS2 ports would go out were a lot of complaints .... I had 3 or 4 fail in the same time period
Still have 2 K6 PCs... 1 has a SIS chip set an a K6 II +, no AGP slot, Rage onboard ..
Been lookin for a Super 7 mobo with an AGP slot to put my Viper 2000 in for the extra visuals in Unreal Tournament

I still remember swapping eeprom chips on server motherboards to swap over the system id so that software licences that were locked to that id would continue to run after a board upgrade. Probably the last time I did that was 10-15 years ago.
