Question Enlarging Windows Recovery Partition

Hi, hoping this is the right form to post this in. I'm trying to Enlarge the Windows recovery partition because I can no longer run Windows update. After scouring the web for info I figured out that I need to enlarge it to roughly 750 MB. It is currently sitting at 450 MB. I was able to find steps and run through removing and recreating the recovery partition as well as using 3rd party tools to remove space from the C drive. However I have two other partitions in the way which I don't want to mess with as I'm not sure what that will do to my system. If I have to reinstall windows I'll just wait till I upgrade PC hardward in a few months. Thanks in advance for any insights on what I should try.

Is this because of KB5034441 failure to install?

If yes, then according to Microsoft, the Recovery Partitiion must also be after the OS partition.

The only practical way to do it with what you show there is to shrink c: enough to accommodate the size you want and make a new partition. You can then move the winre files to it and use reagentc to point to the new location. This will make the current 450 MB partition wasted space but out of 2 TB it wouldn't be a big deal to me.

Not worth the effort IMO.

Make a USB Restore disk or just keep a good image backup.

With 95% unused space there I don't see why you need to make it bigger. I disable WU and just track patch Tuesday releases to avoid the updates that are either useless or break stuff. Just take the cumulative KB number and throw it into Microsoft catalog to DL the update.

Yeah, just leave it for now. I've read up on this because of the failed update, and I've never heard about anyone who can't run Windows Update. Just this particular update, not other updates. I've also read about people with larger recovery partitions who still get the error. Not worth the effort IMO, maybe MS will get around to bothering in a few months.

I still run Windows update and ignore the failed installation of that KB Article for the Restore Partition.
