Here's a review of the larger version of the popular case.

Remember when Fractal made cases out of steel thick enough not to feel cheap?

In any case, I still like how it looks.

You mean the time where you lugged your computer around for LAN parties?

I very much like that case!

I just need to get over having these in the front of my case. I don't need them there I just feel like I need them there!

Thumb is just there because that blue light screws up my camera!

They still make the Define 7. Although I prefer the looks pf the Define 6.

They are both tanks.

The Define 7 is mostly a tank, but it does use a lot of plastic on the front. I have the XL version, and I kind of wish it had better intake vents at the front for when the door is closed, but otherwise I like it.

I'm looking to upgrade my HAF-X. In short, Fractal North XL or Define 7 XL?
I don’t know about you…but it just felt…wrong to replace my HAF932 just so I could use a 280mm AIO cooler…plus one of the plastic whatsits that held the GPU in place had broken…oh, and I wanted better, more modern options for the front panel. (USB 3.0, USB-C, etc.) I considered just installing an add-on panel with those…in the end, I went with a be quiet Dark Base Pro 900 Rev.2 case. Similar size, more…modern, the option to invert the motherboard for right- side door, ODD cage…if you want, up to 420mm radiators, the list goes on and on.

Anyway, I like the look of the Fractal North line of cases, but it’s really about what your needs are…and your preference for appearance.

The North is pretty flimsy. The Define R7 is much better built. And you can't close the top vents on the North, that's a deal breaker for me.
