Samsung S22 Ultra screen self-repair?

The wife dropped her phone, and she did a great job of it. The glass display is cracked, and there is a spot on the edge of the screen and a line that goes across the display with discolored pixels, I think the digitizer is screwed too. It does work, but there are actually tiny fragments of glass flaking off when rubbed so we put a screen protector over it for now. My credit card offers some insurance, but it says it won't pay for cracked screens if they are still functional. I researched and Samsung offers a repair kit with battery, but it only comes with the front glass.

I'm not sure how much Samsung charges if we send it in for repair, of course then she'll need an old phone, and we are going on vacation next week so it's a really inconvenient time. She has been complaining that it is too big for some time, but she wanted the best camera available at the time. I'm not sure what to do with it, I'm sitting here drinking coffee Googling things.

Any thoughts or experience with repair costs?

It ended up being unusable. Thankfully I was able to plug it in and retrieve stuff from it before the screen went completely dark. You can still barely read some settings because I set the brightness to 100%. I'm going to send it in for repair, have it evaluated, and call Wells Fargo to see if they cover it. In the meantime she needed a new phone so we went out and got her a plain Samsung S23. I looked at the Pixel 8 while we were there, but the huge camera bump put her off.

If her S22 Ultra gets repaired we'll keep it for a spare or see what we can sell it for.
