Question Which DDR5 you choose? Lower latency or more MT/s?

Now that CL28 DDR5-5600 is available and v-color has announced CL26 DDR5-5800, would you still go for CL30 DDR5-6000 or CL32 DDR5-6400 for a new PC?

Anyone have personal benchmark data to share which applications/games prefer one or the other?

Probably depends on the CPU? AFAIK 6000 is still the sweet spot for Zen 4.

What's not clear is how AMD arrived at that conclusion. Did they keep latency same and then test? Like benchmarking at iso latency of CL40 from speed 5200 to 6200 MT/s?

The AMD video is excellent and answers my question for AM5. DDR5-5600 CL28 dual rank tuned is roughly the same as tuned DDR5-6000 CL30. Wish they had tested Raptor Lake the same way.

12th and 13th gen. Probably similar for 14th considering the lack of difference between those generations.

My understanding was that part of the reason Zen4 likes DDR5 6000, was due to the way the memory controller was linked with the DRAM clock? Like, the options for running the memory controller, would be 2000, 3000, or 4000 MHz, basically increments of 1000MHz. With DDR, 6000 MT/s would be 3000 MHz. So this is ideal, as it is very hard to get DDR5 8000 on Zen 4. Does this make sense?

Untuned dual rank DDR5-5600 CL28 fares pretty well, all things considered. So lower latency has a decent impact, at least in games. That makes the DDR5-5800 CL26 kit pretty attractive in my eyes. Now to wait for it to become available for sale.
