Given how Israeli intelligence sources were purportedly among the world's finest, and given how this whole disaster is largely to Netanyahu's benefit, I wonder what the chances are that Netanyahu purposely let Israel's defenses lax, giving Hamas a green light to set off what they had already geared up for and was merely waiting for an opportune time to launch their attacks.

Hmm. We don't know if it is or not unless we can pull up the bookkeeping for it and I don't have access to that. Iran says they'll do whatever they want with it. We say it's going to be regulated. Fact is, Iran has a history of doing this, so why would we think they didn't fund this with money, weapons, technology, intel and more?
