It looks like they copied the teams (but not the users) from the main project over to this new one. No announcements anywhere on the site explaining the plan for the new project, and no applications or tasks are available yet.Another potential new BOINC project iThena.Computational .
Not quite sure what to make of this yet. Was able to join via project site and attach via BOINC manager as usual yet was also able to join the TeAm already. Possible CPU intensive version of original iThena project? Not sure if the original is in store for a name change to iThena.Measurements or an eventual changeover/merger is in the works.
Edit: No apps or forum yet.
Edit2: iThena has indeed changed to iThena.Measurments. (sp?)
Or was it imported as a BOINC-wide team? Team 189 is also already attached to a founder named TAC.It looks like they copied the teams (but not the users) from the main project over to this new one.
There have been cuda30 and opencl_amd application versions for a while now.* IIRC they aren't very effective, such that the CPU applications are first choice, right? Anyway; there is now also an opencl_intel_gpu (beta test) version.*
It's a maths / computer science project aiming at finding programs and algorithms for integer sequences.
BOINC ADDRESS for the project:
TAKE NOTE OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / INSTALLED PROGRAMS NEEDED TO RUN THE PROJET
Prerequisites: LODA runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.
You need to have git installed.
On Windows, please install Git for Windows.
On Ubuntu/Debian, you can install it using sudo apt install git.
On macOS, it is included in homebrew.
The team has been created. Someone with the TAC account info will need to 'steal' it from me.A new project: LODA
Some info posted by Dr Who at WUProp
Can a TAAT Team be formed?
I just did all the default options in Windows GIT install and it worked in Windows 10. Some older versions may need some work.
I had GIT installed in Ubuntu for LHC native apps and it works find there.
About 1gb RAM per task and run for 4-5hr. Been running it at 0% with Universe server choking.
It seems the project is not just abandoned by now, but completely dead. Marius left the organization at which the project originated a long time ago, and from some point on hasn't been active in the project's message board anymore. David P Anderson tried to reach him last summer, but to no avail. Also last year, the server's SSL certificate became invalid but at least plain insecure HTTP access still worked. I cannot reach the server at all currently. ("No route to host.") Boinc Stats shows one lone credit update on December 25. Boinc Games did not receive any credit updates from Cosmo in the current BG season either.Cosmology@home
The goal of Cosmology@Home is to search for the model that best describes our Universe and to find the range of models that agree with the available astronomical particle physics data.
