Thanks, that worked. Earlier I was getting a "Forbidden" page when trying to join a team from my profile page.

Another potential new BOINC project iThena.Computational .

Not quite sure what to make of this yet. Was able to join via project site and attach via BOINC manager as usual yet was also able to join the TeAm already. Possible CPU intensive version of original iThena project? Not sure if the original is in store for a name change to iThena.Measurements or an eventual changeover/merger is in the works.

Edit: No apps or forum yet.

Edit2: iThena has indeed changed to iThena.Measurments. (sp?)

It looks like they copied the teams (but not the users) from the main project over to this new one. No announcements anywhere on the site explaining the plan for the new project, and no applications or tasks are available yet.

iThena.Computational now has tasks available for Linux x86_x64 computers. They are still in the initial testing phase and users have reported frequent errors/failures, primarily related to run times going longer than the limits coded into the tasks. Credits are also VERY low for the amount of CPU time. Both problems are supposed to be fixed soon.

edit on 1/3/2022: There is an app for Windows computers now. Work is still somewhat intermittent, but the credits were increased so they are fairly close to average for most other CPU projects.

A new project: LODA

Some info posted by Dr Who at WUProp

It's a maths / computer science project aiming at finding programs and algorithms for integer sequences.

BOINC ADDRESS for the project:
  1. https://boinc.loda-lang.org/loda/
TAKE NOTE OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / INSTALLED PROGRAMS NEEDED TO RUN THE PROJET
Prerequisites: LODA runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.
You need to have git installed.
On Windows, please install Git for Windows.
On Ubuntu/Debian, you can install it using sudo apt install git.
On macOS, it is included in homebrew.

Can a TAAT Team be formed?
I just did all the default options in Windows GIT install and it worked in Windows 10. Some older versions may need some work.
I had GIT installed in Ubuntu for LHC native apps and it works find there.
About 1gb RAM per task and run for 4-5hr. Been running it at 0% with Universe server choking.

The team has been created. Someone with the TAC account info will need to 'steal' it from me.

Whoa, the Asteroids tasks which are being emitted now are from workunits which were created in July 2021, as far as I have looked. Brings back memories! :-)

Huh, the descriptions says it's ODLK for Android devices, yet the currently installed application is called "GTCL Cycle Search" and runs on Windows…

From here, parlea.ru has the same IP address as parlea.isa.ru, and www.isa.ru says about itself that it's the Institute of System Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences. http://parlea.ru/boinctest/about.php says it's a student project, a diploma thesis maybe.

Perhaps disassemble the application first before you run it. :-)

I tried searching for it earlier and about all I could find was an old post from me at [H] about being suspicious of it then. I even went to http://parlea.ru/ to see if it was the same project but only got am apache welcome page

Loda has been unreachable for a long time for me.
Minecraft ran out of work last April, but............?
Quake Catcher, RNA and T.Brada have been removed.

Thanks.

Oh dang, LODA is the most recent project to join BOINC I believe (I don't count the duplicate SPT app from Gerisum and T Brada)

Cosmology@home
The goal of Cosmology@Home is to search for the model that best describes our Universe and to find the range of models that agree with the available astronomical particle physics data.
It seems the project is not just abandoned by now, but completely dead. Marius left the organization at which the project originated a long time ago, and from some point on hasn't been active in the project's message board anymore. David P Anderson tried to reach him last summer, but to no avail. Also last year, the server's SSL certificate became invalid but at least plain insecure HTTP access still worked. I cannot reach the server at all currently. ("No route to host.") Boinc Stats shows one lone credit update on December 25. Boinc Games did not receive any credit updates from Cosmo in the current BG season either.

Yes, I have been keeping an eye on that one. Guess it is time to take it off the list.
