100TOPS for LNL is GPU includedI have some random thoughts:
- 5.1 GHz boost? That's on Phoenix level and very slightly lower than Hawk Point. Not sure there will be an higher clocked part.
- HX moniker seems to point out these will be 45-55W parts. Kinda expected because there are more cores, more capability per core and a better GPU on basically the same process.
- NPU lost 5 TOPS compared to the rumors, maybe for limiting consumption. Not a big deal, but Intel stans are already pointing out that LNL will have "100+ TOPS so Strix Point is useless". When performance should be measured on the field with all applications
- GPU clock is still unknown. Depending on the clock rate we could see from +33% to almost double the theoretical performance of the 780M, of course real performance will be quite BW limited in many scenarios
I know, but Strix Point is around 77 TOPS GPU included. Not that matters, as even if AI will be really so important what matters is not the peak performance. But it will be the marketable number for LNL:100TOPS for LNL is GPU included
1) Update AGESA to AMD ComboAM5 1180
First FLOP and now TOP.
Well FLOPs were silly but had at least a bit of a point.First FLOP and now TOP.
First FLOP and now TOP.
4. Now looks like AMD held so many things up before until Computex and showcase everything, maybe even include RDNA4 preview. And still no reliable benchmark of anything leaked. I'm suffocating.
Strange, still no solid numbers yet. The floodgates usually have already been opened. But not this time.
Zen 5 is somehow going to be somehow presented at Computex. That's June 3rd. Yet, nobody knows the real release date or availability. Some thought:
1. Old rumor of Zen5 release date 2H2024, now looks to be wrong
Sales embargo for Strix Point is much sooner than you think after Computex and as for AM5 samples... Not sure what to tell you about that frankly. But those samples are without a doubt out there, and I can give you a 100% completely sure guarantee on that.Zen 5 is somehow going to be somehow presented at Computex. That's June 3rd. Yet, nobody knows the real release date or availability.
Retail AM5 BIOSes are ready but samples are not leaking apart from that Strix Point Geekbench. Either this time there are some super advanced restrictions applied or there are not enough samples yet. Occam's razor...
Please show yourself out!Must be a very strix embargo.
...sorry.
It's great to see the friendly banter. So much different than some other fora.
I know the stack.I disagreed, my claim was that lower tier configurations would (or should) come.
Pay up.8 core, 40 CU configuration would be ideal for gaming, and this slide shows it as a possibility.
Frankly, the existence of the 128-bit "LP" model there puts this whole slide under doubt. That one doesn't make any sense in the slightest, that's just simply far too cut down.Strix Halo slide - of Strix Helo configurations - has not been posted here. Whie @adroc_thurston said he did not expect lower end configurations, I disagreed, my claim was that lower tier configurations would (or should) come.

I have my doubts about the configuration on the bottom configuration. Why not just go with Strix Point? It should be close enough, and cost of that model would be too high vs. the price it could command.
Slide apparently comes from older presentation:

Is that so?I know the stack.
Just like you knew about the naming scheme and weren't proven wrong the very next day.Yet AMD current naming persists.
