With 797,700 points difference, contact in 7 hours would require 114,000 points/hour difference of output rate. Yet our output is 125,000...155,000 p/h, theirs is 120,000...140,000 p/h.
Meaning that the "7 hours until contact" have been calculated with our unusual "production" during today's morning hours included. But I am certain we cannot reproduce this rate now.
Edit: In fact, those "7 hours until contact" were calculated based on the 24 hour output difference.
if WCG gave me a Ruby award for my puny contribution, I wonder what they gave Stefan!?
Thanks, I figured it out. I have a 10 year for mapping cancer markers. and some other nice ones.OcUK tossed a WCG grenade at RKN, and moved up a spot in not only in WCG, but the overall as well, knocking us down to 11th.
In the previous hour, I realized that getting 113 thousand BOINC points in WCG is NOT going to happen, but theses little grenades popping off from below us will steadily chisel away at the 310k BOINC point lead we had last hour, so I'm crunching WCG to the last.
What notices, the race stats or the badges?
Badges here.
On the same Einstein project preferences page toward the bottom there is another CPU setting, make sure it is set to NO also so you don't receive CPU tasks in place of gpu tasks that are available. Hope that will help.
That's a head scratcher, I have mine set that way and all I get is GPU work.yeah, that's set for NO as well..
I like to simply disable Windows Update via the Services applet when the machine is "otherwise engaged." Updates can wait, Windows.Everyone crunching watch out if your on Win 10. Just had a message in the action center to restart the PC outside of active hours. So, I snoozed boinc, exited and restarted real fast to get the update installed, instead of waking up to a rebooted system that didn't crunch all night.
Yep, I have passwords for passwords, and passphrases, lol...I keep everything locked down. Linux Untangled firewall running and I do the paid version for a home network.Yeah! I am on the list too, and much much further up than I could have expected (27th). I've been running planck? Thought I had everything set for the other one and legacy....

I usually like being up to date with Windurs. You guys have passwords on your systems or something? Restarts resume BOINC'ing for me (with no password).
Same here, LHC did fine though. I opened the VB first, then registered my account and let it download tasks. Running smooth for now. I forget to disable the win update service.I like to simply disable Windows Update via the Services applet when the machine is "otherwise engaged." Updates can wait, Windows.
Was not successful at getting Cosmology@Home to work. It looked like it was working, but no CPU was being used. Not sure what the deal was.
