Question Anti-Sag bracket

Do I still need to use it for a heavy video card if mounted vertically?

It depends on the mounting, I guess. If it's an addon bracket that came with the case, I'd say it would depend on the length and weight of the card, and how much length and support the mounting bracket offers. An additional bracket would be a good idea if the vertical mounting bracket is short, thin, etc.

So how would I use a anti-sag bracket vertically though ? Yes i read the manual but does not say.

Video card is around 4 lb give or take.

I suppose I should have asked what kind of anti-sag bracket you had in mind. I forgot that there's a few different types. I had used a simple adjustable bolt type that the end of the card rested on. There are also extended and reinforced brackets too that mount where the GPU screws down in the case slots. Never used one of those myself.

Interesting, I've never seen one that mounted on the mobo.

Will it align with where the card will be, and will it actually make contact? If the answers are yes, I would use it just to be safe but that's me. If the answers are no, then there's obviously no reason to install it.

I used a couple of zip ties to prevent it from sacking.

What I don't understand is that, when you produce a 3 slot video card with a backplate it would be pretty easy to design it so it didn't sag.

Does your GPU look like it's sagging? I'd be surprised if you need one when vertically mounting a GPU. The same forces do not apply when mounted in this way. The GPU can not pivot around the PCIe slot like is does when mounted horizontally.

Since they've told us to pronounce it as "tie", NVidia should change the name of their flagship card so that it's now the 5090 TiTi.

I use a wooden dowel and some plastic foam. I use enough foam so there is a little tension. Works fine.

I have a metal pillar under the far corner of mine, that has an adjustable screw. Used a spirit level to make sure everything was aligned.
